Proper little wine circle we have going here.
I suggest we adopt one of the aforementioned wines as Wine of The Week, and then post our tasting notes. This isn't the royal 'we'. I am a man and therefore drink beer. |

The wine of the week has to be Aldis Amigo Secreto Chile, £6.99. It's comically good for the price
I'll shut up about it now and look forward to someone posting next weeks 'wine of the week' |

Right, JD, your choice is Wine of the Week.
In the spirit of chit chat comradeship, I will try and get hold of a bottle. I look forward to the chit chat tasting notes. |

Re the start wine. This wine is "organic" and is a blend of the grapes/vines Syrah (which the Australians call Shiraz) and Carignan - which is a fashionable southern French Grape variety which also grows well in Chile. This latter grape is epitomised by the French wine Corbieres.

Thanks, Blackburn. Very educational, which is a big part of the Wine of the Week experiment.

Ta. I'll buy a bokkle tomorrow. I always buy the Toco Loro when I'm in aldi (which isn't that often because it's mainly for peasants), but I'll try this instead. |

Facts - Don't be rude to Eddy. Re my post, you could have just ack'd it, but I will assume you've taken it on board

Right. I made a detour to my local Aldi.
There was no Amigo Secreto Chile! ![]() |

Italian red wine is a good choice at the moment.
It gets you there, and you'll feel a little better because you're helping their economy after last week. Buying a campagnolo group set would achieve the same effect, but red wine is preferable. |

Waitrose Italian 'Rich and Intense' red wine is nice and a bargain when they have their 25% discount on six or three bottles. It is then just £3.75 for a decent bottle. It is especially good when you buy at Waitrose the Sunday or Saturday Telegraph, a cappuccino and three bottles of wine - £11.25!

I might as well be - as I tried Aldi in Bideford while on holiday in an attempt to obtain the Wine of Last Week - but to no avail.

Forgot to add that you only get the coffee and telegraph free if you are a Waitrose member, free to join, and spend over £5 during the week and over £10 at the weekend.
