They are very worried about Steve as he comes across as very sensible, likeable and is a good speaker.

Making the party a real threat to the Tories.

How long did he have to get his application in?

Why leave it to the last minute if he was serious about it?
Report Burton-Brewers August 3, 2016 2:35 PM BST
Dr he had already paid the nomination fee and he had been trying to log in since the Friday. There is talk that the computers were shut down on purpose as they were amazingly functioning 10 mins after the deadline had expired.

Re: Industry Alert

The Gambling Commission has received information regarding unusual betting activity on markets relating to the ‘Next UKIP Leader’. Whilst we are aware that a number of betting operators have already suspended related markets, this alert has been circulated to enable all operators to apply appropriate risk measures. If operators detect any suspicious betting activity relating to these markets relevant information can be provided to the Commission’s Sports Betting Intelligence Unit (SBIU) on

He forgot about his drink driving conviction when seeking election as Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester so easy to understand how he could have forgotten the deadline for filing his application to be UKIP leader.

Perhaps leading a political party is not the job for someone with such a poor memory though, it might lead to the public not finding out things they really ought to know if they're thinking about voting for him.
Report jamesdean August 3, 2016 5:01 PM BST
They managed to re open the Brexit voting for another 24hrs after the deadline when it was clear that not enough remain
voters had voted. What would be wrong with doing the same here if the computers had went down?

Carswell and Hamilton now control the NEC after today's resignations so it would never be allowed.

Carswell and Hamilton are Tory stoogies
