a guy was on my local bus a few years ago with a hatchet. waved it about and threatened people. don't know if the police got him - never got any follow up info. Maybe get a chain mail vest for public transport?

I choose my words very carefully here, not that I should have to because we SHOULD all be fully-functioning, clued-up adults aware of stuff like context and nuance. But when it comes to race, all this seems to go out the window.
Pressing on though….
It seems that the person who attacked and injured 4 passengers on the train in Wurzburg last night was an Afghan refugee (refugee from what? I thought we had established peace in Afghanistan? Oh well….) with ISIS material found at his nearby foster home.
It is precisely this scenario (and the sex attacks in Cologne and Stockholm and the free movement of terrorists between Paris and Brussels after the Bataclan attack) that many who voted for Brexit sought to highlight as a direct result of the EU’s open borders policy and the inability / unwillingness of authorities to check the bona-fides of migrants / asylum seekers / terrorists / criminals entering the EU.
This valid and legitimate question was, in general, drowned out in cries of ‘racism’ and airy-fairy words about us ‘not turning our backs on the world….not being inward looking’ and then something about ‘Little Englanders (never ‘Little Welshies’ or ‘Little Scotlanders because that, er, might be racist mightn’t it? Oh well…)
I don’t for one minute think that gaining control of our own borders is the magic bullet that will stop these kind of attacks. I think the answer there lies in ending the civil war in Syria, condemning the toxic theology that gives rise to ISIS and supporting the work of groups like the Quilliam foundation and its pioneering work with de-radicalisation and giving fair and equal opportunities to all communities to share in the wealth of our country, whilst never being afraid to condemn evildoers - like the Rochdale / Rotherham / Oxford/ Aylesbury rape gangs - with the same fervour some give to condemning people who merely voted for Brexit.
I do think that assessing the background of anyone wishing to settle in our country is a good idea and measuring what they can contribute to our society on what our society needs.
I do not think handing over our migration policy to people smugglers or the EU and the insane Angela Merkel is going to keep anyone safe.

Today I pray for Chit Chat's very own IAN Mohammed, at daily risk from Pretendy Refugees like this in his very own house. He did no prior Security Checks on them, no doubt believing it would probably work out OK. You see offering his home to "Refugees", whatever their catastrophic intentions, was the "only moral and humanitarian thing to do".
I'm not inclined to post messages on Twitter, but I read a few accounts here and there. I notice that some people have set up hashtags in recent months along the lines of "PrayforParis", "PrayforBrussels" and doubtless today "PrayforGermany".
Surely only the stoniest of hearts would not sign up to a "PrayforIanMohammed" hashtag if someone more Twitter-savvy than myself would set it up, and post some sort of link here as proof.
I look to you all, the "tolerant" and "progressive" men of Chit Chat to do it. Allah will surely smile upon you for your goodness.

The teenager had gone to the mosque "on special occasions", he said, but no-one had noticed any radical behaviour and there were no signs yet of a direct link to jihadist networks"
What do they expect - the coont to walk around with DAESH or IAN stamped on his forehead?

I agree, unless you count the ISIS flag found in the axeman's room, the cry of 'Allahu Akbar" as he attacked innocent people with an axe, the acceptance of responsibility for the attack by ISIS…. you know, all the stuff we normally associate with such incidents.

dixie 19 Jul 16 12:26 rtb - you really think the British have established peace in Afghanistan?
Of course I do.
Because otherwise our government would be lying to us and my future son-in-law had his legs blown off out there for NOTHING - and that would never do now would it?

Why did the Germans take so many refugees when the war was mainly down to the Yankees, Brits and French? The Germans must be seething. Merkel what a naive lady.

To get a feeling for the wider ramifications of this attack in Germany, you just need to take a quick look at Twitter in German. Racist and xenophobic comments against asylum seekers compete with equally impassioned arguments in support of refugees - including a tweet by Green MP Renate Kuenast asking why police had killed the attacker rather then injuring him. This has provoked in turn another storm online, saying the perpetrator is getting more sympathy than the victims.
Thank goodness Green MP Renate Kuenast is sticking up for the poor lad.

Slight tangent: the current rail dispute on Southern and Scot Rail over guardless trains takes on a new angle.
The train system has virtually zero security. How long before 'armed train marshals' become a reality?

It's really fun the double standards in all this isn't it: That Jo Cox guy apparently said something like "Britain 1st", the rumour of this was stated as fact pretty much instantly in all the news bulletins, that alone was all the proof needed to prove he was right wing, and pretty soon it was being used to say 17 million brits are fruitcake racists. Yet over the last few weeks we've had a various people proclaiming support for IS, murdering or trying to murder shouting the usual "Aloe Soapbar" (though some parts of the media won't mention that), can say why they are doing it (religion) on the ****ing internet, and the media STILL bend over backwards until their head is up their own bottom to say there is no proof that it's anything to do with religion.
WHAT THE **** is going on in this world? Why are the standards of proof so different?

As innocent people are slaughtered and raped across the continent of Europe by Hate-Filled Peace-Loving Cultural Enrichers, let's go to Britain to see what allegedly constitutes a 'Hate Crime' over here.
We are told this non-event requires the intervention of a 'Specialist Hate Crime Office', a species which seemingly did not exist in Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford and all the other umpteen towns across the UK where sexually-underaged white girls were raped on an industrial scale by men of Pakistani Heritage.
Those suffering from high blood pressure might do well to look away.

A serviceman who was threatened with a knife near an RAF base was the victim of an attempted abduction, police said.
Officers said he was approached by two men as he was out jogging near the married quarters at RAF Marham in Norfolk on Wednesday.
He was threatened with a knife and attempts were made to grab him before both men fled in a car, Norfolk Police said.

The Interior Minister said Germany is on high alert for terrorist attacks but dismissed any connection between this and the fact more than a million migrants entered the country last year.
The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) politician said that while there have been rumours that some of the migrants who entered Europe during the “migrant crisis” could be planning terrorist attacks, “in most cases these were shown to be false”.
Mr. de Maiziere said that, because of this, “we cannot say there is a connection between refugees and terrorism”.

apparently it could be nothing more sinister than "going to bundle him into the van and take him to a cash machine at knife point" according to BBC on 909 today .
Was listening to it this afternoon and they really are hard at it ,main programe was full of shocking propaganda on brexit and how we need immigrants ,absolute shocking stuff ,shameless all afternoon ,they did try and act impartial but it was biased impartiality ,it was strained and went no where near leveling up the stuff they were peddaling .
Basically they were reporting from a farm where eastern europeans ,live and work ,are encouraged to remain on site ,play football and pool ,live with their partners on site with money deducted from their wages for digs .
One min the slave master says min wage then its above living wage but it goes unchecked and they fawn over how good conditions are but have a multitude of Uk PEOPLE from college students to the unelployed saying and agreeing with the narative that they dont want that kind of work ect ect the agenda was very apparent and the balence was forced and false .
then they split to news and we got the "it was maybe just gunna be a knife point robbery "
We are in trouble folks ,a whole lot of trouble ,wake up and smell the coffee ffs

Whenever I go jogging I've got a couple of hundred sovs stashed away in my undies just in case I pass the Gavroche and fancy a Lobster salad and a few flutes of Dom Perignon... always pack a tie as well or they wouldn't let me in... well, doesn't everyone do that when they are out for a jog?
