More than one person is thinking like Jollyswagman. There are rumours that Derek Finch, infamous HUDDERSFIELD TOWN fan and patron of ARTWANG INC., has expressed interest in buying every art work on this thread...

Looks increasingly like a bidding war between Derek Finch and SHEILA TENNYSON-PEARCE, the milk heiress who always wears limited edition golden doughnut ear-rings...she used to be a STOKE CITY mascot and is often celebrated for her Scouse brow and MILKY TOP LIP which she sports as an ongoing tribute to dairy farmers throughout the UK.

i'm sure it's only a matter of time before charles and maurice saatchi join the bidding war although i dont know if they have the funds to compete with the above luminaries.
|
|
By:
Yeah, I doubt Saatchi can compete with ruthless milk magnates.

I have three masterpieces by an up and coming five-year-old artist awaiting approval.
I hope these will inspire Hank Junior to showcase some of his works here. |

Lovely drawings Velasquez. I particularly like the second one for the texture he has achieved in the clothing. Hadn't heard of him, always something to learn from Chit chat.
The young girl loves to paint and play music when she comes here with her mother. I always leave out some tube paints, large filbert brush and palette knives for her. You can probably tell that those pictures were done with the knives. We also play the keyboard and harmonicas together and don't give a damn about the noise. |

I've just searched for more images by Repin and recognised a brilliant one of the composer Modest Mussorgsky. I have this portrait on the front cover of an old vinyl record of "Pictures at an exhibition" and remember thinking how good it was at the time.

I know who he was Vel but won't spoil it. A People's artist of the Soviet Union I believe.

Harumph...well, go on, it's a 10-pointer if you've done yer research...I can never remember his name for some reason - I've got it written in a dozen notebooks...as the Chinese say, "A little ink is better than the best memory."

I love his work Vel and try to capture light like that. The "barge haulers" was the first one of his I had seen and I was taken by his depiction of the sheer torture that Russian serfs had to endure.
