Mobo you are right to highlight the threat posed by the disgusting belief system of Islam and the denial of our leaders and the media.

Much of that is caused by those like Corbyn trapped by Socialist  dogma who appease and support Islam because it suits their agenda as evidenced in Northern towns when they used the racist slur against anyone who spoke up.Again in Germany the truth was suppressed  for the same reason .

Some of those with entrenched Socialist  views want to change society  by any means to their agenda and civil strife caused by Islam fits that agenda.

Apart from you I have never heard anyone from the left criticize Islam instead they blame the Western democratic  countries and are apologists for Islamic terror.

Personally I think liberal tolerance and belief in the fair execution of British Law and Order is the only answer to extremism, Muslim or anything else.

Socialists are (generally though not exclusively) so anti-Israel they're stuck firmly in the 'my enemy's enemy is my friend' camp and therefore blind to the anti-social elements of extreme Islam.

The extreme right need Islam extremism to exist and have a vested interest in talking up the Muslim threat. In point of fact their views on civic liberalism (re gay rights, women's rights, trades unions etc) have plenty in common with their opponents.

How come there is no term such as "Buddhistphopia", "seekphobia" or "Hinduphobia"?

So it is NOT racist at all, those who use the racist term for those who speak out against Islam and what it stands for are completely ignorant.

It must be common sense to worry about your way of life when you see it being eroded by a systematic takeover.

The large media companies want higher populations, more revenue and more profit. So they don't speak out and often hide the truth.

The politicians do not want to lose votes so do not speak out. And they do not want to upset the press as they will turn on them and no chance of getting elected then.

We  are being sold short and luvvie lefties just cannot see the truth of what is happening. Sad

It's a tough one Mikael because it may seem that some people just don't like Muslims and for sure there are some of those but there are also a lot of people who believe in concepts of fair play and the rule of law who have been left aghast at some of the goings on over the last few years.

After being publicly accused by Glenn Greenwald of "spouting and promoting Islamophobia," Sam Harris responded with these words:

"Needless to say, there are people who hate Arabs, Somalis, and other immigrants from predominantly Muslim societies for racist reasons. But if you can't distinguish that sort of blind bigotry from a hatred and concern for dangerous, divisive, and irrational ideas -- like a belief in martyrdom, or a notion of male 'honor' that entails the virtual enslavement of women and girls -- you are doing real harm to our public conversation. Everything I have ever said about Islam refers to the content and consequences of its doctrine. And, again, I have always emphasized that its primary victims are innocent Muslims -- especially women and girls.
There is no such thing as 'Islamophobia.' This is a term of propaganda designed to protect Islam from the forces of secularism by conflating all criticism of it with racism and xenophobia. And it is doing its job, because people like you have been taken in by it."

Excellent post HH, " I have always emphasized that its primary victims are innocent Muslims -- especially women and girls". their treatment truly beggars belief,

I have traveled extensively in the last 40 years, all the continents bar the frozen one, I have been to Sunni and Shia dominated societies, some extremely poor some extremely rich. The most striking thing was the treatment of women in all these places.

While Christianity has managed to evolve albeit kicking and screaming in some centuries, Islam has altered not one jot, some would argue that it is in fact regressing in some countries, and I don't mean in Daesh controlled areas.

Proper debate has and is being stifled by the moronic Islamophobia chanters.

I like Sam Harris. Accusing him of 'Islamophobia' seems silly since he's all-religion phobic. That said, I don't agree with him on the bolded part.
By:

As mentioned, the use of 'Islamophobia' as an 'umbrella description' that encompasses people who simply hate one or more particular race, is at best misleading, making a clear distinctions for the purposes of reasoned debate harder/impossible?.

Islamophobia as a concept exist now  by virtue of the fact that is is being used (wrongly imo) extensively to describe anyone who expresses an opinion that is contrary to or questions  Islamic Ideology.

Anyone who expresses hatred of another race, should be dealt with under present legislation, and not simply be labelled as an Islamophobe.

What term should we use instead, BTF? I actually agree with you but in these days of soundbites it helps to come up with a snappy term. 'Radicalextremefundamendalistophobe' doesn't quite work. While I say I disagree with the bolded part of Harris' statement, he basically addresses it in the unbolded part.

Just a final thought, 'Radicalextremefundamendalistophobe' shortened to Refofphobe, might have an outside (100/1?) chance providing football pundits don't hijack it.

Them again maybe not.Plain

Lose the phobia bit.. that's an irrational fear; you don't get Naziphobic or Fascistophobic.

Use what the latter 2 use... "Anti-"

Then use the word which is used by mainstream media to avoid using "Islamic"... i.e. "Islamist".

So you tell anyone who calls you an Islamophobe that you are actually Anti-Islamist. Job done. Cool

If you were told that anyone who doesn't follow your code was of no status and didn't matter. It didn't matter much how you treated them and that women who uncovered their heads and went out on their own would suffer a fate decided by allah. Then what would your attitude would be if you came from a country where women were treated like second class citizens.  Clearly they are asking for it. Fair game eh chaps!!!??  Pile  in they were asking for it any way - it is written.

I posted this on another thread but I think it's worth repeating here ...

They are animals.

Used to live in Tehran with young family in late 70s.
Wife pushing pushchair with daughter in to pick up child 2 from local nursery.
Local animal (I presume Iranian, I presume Mussie, but Naydam et al - I have no real evidence except my wife said he looked Iranian and Iranians are predominantly mussies) ran up to her, grabbed her t1ts and then ran off!

They are animals, period.

Head, wall, banging, Mikael.

If this forum is symptomatic of society in general, then it's becoming frighteningly reminiscent of early-mid 1930's Germany.

Wow. Just wow.

Simple question..

Which predominantly Islamic country or region in Britain/Europe would anyone choose to move to, marry, raise children and enjoy life?

The nearest I can get to is a place like Fez in Morrocco which tends to be more Sufi Muslim.

I still would prefer to live in any Christian based society though.

EO, I don't believe that any anonymous forum by it's very nature is symptomatic of society in general, People on here say things that they would not say face to face or in a group discussion.

This method of communication is extremely limited, Mikael started the thread by saying "Islamophobes **** off" I responded by saying you **** off, he then responded by saying "gloves off your a c**t" Which my peculiar humour found hilarious. we don't know anything about each other, but were engaging in a slagging match.

Now what I think Mikael was really saying (and I await correction) is ffs guys give it a rest, Islamophobes seems to have the monopoly on here, can we talk about something else please!!. At least in a face to face group discussion I imagine it could have run along those, or similar lines. As I don't know Mikael I can only guess.

Without the vital intonation of the spoken word it's too easy to get it wrong or get carried away because of misinterpretation. Just a thought. Plain

There are a number of forumites on here who like a good wind up and silly banter, I'm as guilty as any on that count, But I believe/hope that despite what it sometime looks like, it is just that, and no real malice is intended.

As for Islam/refugees/terrorism etc, These are very important issues, and I'm sure many of the comments are heartfelt, but cannot find true expression on a forum like this because of the limitations mentioned above.

Finally (I'm fckedShocked I'm a one fingered typist, Laugh) I may of course have it all wrong, I would welcome your comments and Mikaels.Happy

mobo years ogo I used to love Worthington White label, India pale ale, getting it poured without the sediment getting into the glass was a different matter. In my local I poured it myself after reminding the barman not to shake it, when taking it from the crate, they were rarely on the shelf.

you did the same with the original guinness in the bottle and there may be one or two real ales in a bottle brewed still - there was one with the wire clamp on the top to hold the cork in  DON'T SHAKE IT!!!!

slurp!!!!  It is all personal taste of course but my biggerist favoritist to die for real ale is ENVILLE ALE  nice head as they do in the midlands - a golden ale   STATION INN KIDDERMINSTER - I travel there just to slurp!!! Hobsons brewery another very good one.

You might not be able to manage the hills around there, dudley nearby !!!  etc as you are used to flat places and might get lost too hahah
