I placed a bet on an Outright market that was only formed at the semi final stage. The bookmaker claimed it to be an ante post bet. How can this be so when the four remaining players had already each won 5 matches?
My Outright selection was then disqualified following a complaint from another country. The market remained open on the day of the semi finals with all 4 players prices remaining the same, even though one had been disqualified.
It's a Darts bet with all the info on the link below...Scroll past halfway for the bookies reply.
If you placed your bet after he had qualified on a price offered based on just 4 players left, you should get a refund. He took no part from the time the bet was struck. As he wasn't one of the 4 semi finalists and you backed him to win the event from a point where he was declared a semi finalist you didn't have an active participant. THAT IS as long as he was replaced by someone else. If he just got kicked out and the other semi-finalist went straight to the final then your bet would be a loser.
If the bet was placed at any time before the semi-finalists were known, the bet is a loser (a bit like having a horse falling or taking the wrong course during the race).
I'm not sure how clear that all looks.

probably agree with that

If no other player came into the betting and he paid full odds on the winner then he must consider your bet a loser...or he would over broke the other 3 players

Following a lengthy phone discussion (22 mins) John Michael came under starters orders, and I did my dough. All outright bets stand and according to the trader the semi final match was voided.
When I asked why John Michael was still in the Outright and semi final markets on the day of the semi finals when he'd already been disqualified a day or two prior he couldn't answer (so I did for him).
I did my best to squeeze out as much info as possible and was not surprised to be told very little money was taken on any of the available markets.
Thanks again folks. Back to the ghost town that is the darts forum...
