My speed is 55.17 with Virgin - Not really a geek on this subject but (aside from Platini) I assume this is reasonable?

What difference does this speed make? I'm one step up from dial up and I can do everything I want.

I posted the following on another thread a few weeks ago - saying that a 50Mb connection is "faster" than a 2Mb connection is a bit of a misnomer.
If you are only sending/recieving a small amount of data (say placing a bet on Betfair), then a 2Mb connection will send it just as quickly as a 50Mb connection. It is only quicker when downloading huge quantities of data (ie a film or video or music). |

I currently get a broadband speed of 154Mb download with 11Mb upload - and they have already told me that they will be giving me a speed upgrade in the autumn!

They kind of have to.
They market themselves on being the fastest, so as technology improves they need to remain ahead of the others. As its a tech company dictated to be moore's law they either improve the product or decrease the price, and they arnt in the game of decreasing price so speeds have to increase, whether you use it or not. |

Aspro, it used to be reasonable.
But I watch a lot more live sport and tv/movies on streams now, and it makes a big difference to the picture quality. |
