Quorn Steak Slice

Absolutely delicious. Definitely the tastiest Quorn product I've tasted, and I've had plenty.

Had some carnivore pals round the other night, and asked them if they wanted a steak slice each. They couldn't tell it wasn't meat.

i cook the sausages in marmite - can't eat them any other way. lovely

kenny, peppery steaks were ok and chicken slices i quite like on their own straight out the packet or the beef slices with horseradish , mince i fry with onions  .

not sure how much any of it tastes like meat = although i just eat to enjoy in it's own right - once a week at most - co-op has offer on quorn at the mo

what i do notice watching CDWM is how almost every piece of meat is smothered with some condiment or other unless it's a piece of $50 dollar steak

Homemade cottage pie using Quorn mince is also delicious. I used to make lots of them when Mr Makybe was a vegetarian.

Yes, I have, Flower, for now. Just cutting out bread as from the 1st June. Not a dramatic effect. May have to be the ale next!

It doesn't really Coach', but if you convince them its meat before  eat it there's a decent chance they will be fooled, especially with the steak style slice.

Some products are hit and miss in the range. We had friends up a while ago and one of them was a chef and one night I gave them Linda MaCartney minced beef pie and they've subsequently introduced such things into their diet alongside the meat purely from a health point of view. I'll give those steak things a try.

They are very good, I bought another today. Quite pricy at £1-59 I thought.

I was only looking at some Billy Bunter clips a couple or three weeks ago' and remembering Quelch, Nugent, Wharton, Cherry, H.J.R.S,

Mr Petigrew etc and looking at some clips which just look dreadful today. Used to howl with laughter back then.....

When Gem was with me I made a Bolognese sauce pretty much every week from which we had "Spag Bol", "Cornish Pasties", "Chillie Con Carne" (without Carne),

The sauce topped with mashed potato and so on.

You can make a bulk and freeze it in portions and compared to meat it is cheap and ideal for non meat eaters.

The trick is to exaggerate the flavour and add a generous amount of stock, Tomato Puree and red wine.

The problem is that a lot of people are allergic to it or, like my Gemma, become allergic ans suffer quite badly.

Americans, being Americans, are not happy with it and had it under investigation. I can' recall the findings but it will all be here to look at.

I stopped buying it, but noticed that it always seemed to be on a low price offer, perhaps due to bad publicity.

For those on here who think they can't cook they honestly can't go wrong with trying this.

For those with little time, make a batch and then make "Spag Bol" or "Chillie" in just a few minutes.

The Billy Bunter books were a fabulous read, Aunty. I devoured them nearly all in the late 50s.Beautifully written by the great Frank Richards.

When I have popped down to the local mosque and spoken to the Imam there will be uproar.

I tried them as well Diva and couldn't finish it.
Never been a fan of quorn but this was even worse.

qourn is a base really ,like pasta or rice or meat itself-just need to be bit inventive and use plenty of flavours around it
