If I'm ever found dead with a back full of bullets, I hope people will spend a bit less time criticising my decision to run away and a bit more criticising the person that shot me in the back.

The thing is I actually agree that there is a left-wing press bias, but this is obviously a newsworthy story. Can you lot honestly not see why it's in the fúcking news?

What's that, self assessment included?

Amazing that such a gormless nation as America let people have guns. Crazy

I'd forgotten quite how gloriously bonkers this place is! Laugh

and yet orioles you seem completely unable to bring any logic or reason to it, just infantile moaning.

Not the unjustified shooting dead of a fleeing man, it's merely a 'political talking point'.

Obviously, I never said anything like this, but you find reality difficult. It's a method which would only fool an idiot, and possibly you have convinced yourself so i'll explain what you did to alter reality to fit your therapeutic narrative. Firstly you change the fact that I was referring to the media coverage of the event, not the death itself. Then you insert the word "merely" to doctor the point, but to invent a whole new fiction. And bingo, you've created for yourself a story with a fictional villain and more importantly you as the hero, or saviour. And this makes you feel a bit better.
Notice how this approach is similar to your use of the Scott killing.

I can hear the sub now. 'Let's bump this for the village fete story ...'

so let's look at what THIS story bumped, the thousands of murders in america including a seriously disproportionate rate within the black community. The horrific situation in Mexico and much of central and south america. The spiralling killings and genocide right across the middle east and africa with hundreds of thousands dead in horrific circumstances, but no in depth or personal coverage. Maybe brown people in sandy countries mean much less to you than an exploitation of a narrative that makes you feel good.

The racism,

Where exactly? Or do guilty uptight liberals like yourself hallucinate it in everything to make yourself feel better, maybe to ease the guilt? A little fantasy in your head where you point out everyone else as racist, and you've come to "save"the black man, just as long as you don't have to live in one of their neighbourhoods.

a splash splash of homophobia,

Seriously? How about you throw in Sexism, Rape Culture, Transgender-bathroom-denier. I guess you can't form an argument it still leaves you with throwing prefabricated chants around at random.
Then tell me, was the supervising officer in the Garner case racist, sexist, homophobic, islamophobic, or all of the above?

This story you seem to revel in was a personal tragedy, and as a member of the family said, was made worse by the lurid use of it by the media and political opportunists.

It made the news because it was graphic video of someone being killed. Arguably the other reason was because it fitted a narrative.

The story itself is tragic but as I've said, there are thousands of first degree murders that go unreported, this was probably a second degree murder but even then the facts are relatively scarce from the same media that runs the video over and over. If it's an important story then run it but with proper investigation, rather than as a snuff movie.
