got 4 and getting a half sleeve done on my left arm next week i like them anyway but can accept they're not for everybody

on some people they look fantastic , on others they look fookin woeful .


on very pretty womem  they are a no- no    - unless they're goths

Never seen one that looked all that good tbh

Stunning women don't need them.

Ugly ones have them to distract your gaze away from the face.

It's why loads of fat birds walk round with their tits hanging out.

The art of distraction is strong.

somehow, getting a tattoo has become a middle class fad.

People trying to be "individual" by jumping on a bandwagon and doing the same thing as everyone else

not too dissimilar to getting an eyebrow pierced a few years ago

Times have changed.

I worked at a place in the early 1980s where we took over another company. Their foreman got our old foreman's job, until he was spotted with his sleeves up.
He lost it because he had tattoos, and when he had his longish hair cut, it revealed an ear stud.

Another example of changed times : a slaphead was called a skinhead back then, and would never have got a job in charge of anything.

Being bald, which you can't help, was different to shaving your head, that made you a 'troublemaker'.

Fodder for the Chav masses and div sportsmen.

I've one I got done when I was 18. I don't regret it but I think their a waste of money.

A quite unbelievable fad of the last ten years or more.

How many programmes will there be on 'My Tattoo Nightmares' on tv in ten years time?

They're already on now - but there's bound to be a glut of them in the coming years when women (especially) will be crying about how their lives have been ruined because it was somehow 'other people's fault' that they were so stupid in desecrating their bodies - and demanding help in the removal of them via the NHS.

For me, a tattoo on a woman is an instant message that says "I'm thick I am" - and nothing will ever change my mind.

They must be totally around the bend to be so gullible/stupid to do such a thing to themselves.

As Vel said: "Get a bit of paper and draw something".

Same difference, without marking yourself out for all to see as a bloody halfwit.

My mate and me went to a tattoo parlour in Blackpool in 1969 after having a few beers in 1969 for a small arm tattoo. Thank the Lord there was a long queue and we got fed up waiting. My mum would have killed me.

Having said that, there are a lot of decent people who have tattoos. Ex forumite Zelda is a prime example. A more caring person to animals would be hard to meet.
