Honey, Brandy and a little hot water. Works every time.

Fundamentally there isn't really any such thing as a 'cure' for a cough.
The most important thing is to keep hydrated.

Steam might help a little with some types of cough and honey/lemon/brandy remedies can sometimes ease it a little.
Cough medicines don't work.
Cough sweets and lozenges don't work.

I've had one for the last couple of weeks too, and it's getting on my nerves. So you have my sympathy.

Had the flu and then a cough that lasted for a month - really irritating. Got lots of fresh air and it went away eventually.

I had a cough for about 5 months and after trying all of the above and other remedies went to the doctor. Turns out it was something called acid reflux. She prescribed Omeprazole and it is much better. Wish I had gone to the doctor earlier. Do you get heartburn too Twizzle?

Yeah there definitely seems to be some long lasting cough doing the rounds.
Half the people I work with have been suffering since the New Year seems very hard to shake off.
I seem to have got it also last few days driving me up the walls nothing seems to ease it.

This came to the south of England back in November.

This is a old and tested way to get rid.
Infuse one teaspoon of thyme, in a cup of boiling water, strain then drink it, as and when.
Do not use a metal spoon to stir, use a silver one instead.
Do not use a metal tea strainer.

Do this each October, to keep chest and coughs away the following winter.

I get a persistent cough regularly, can last up to 5 months. Esp bad in winter months.
No medicinal cure. Tried everything. Been to doctors, had all checks, x-rays etc. nothing found.

One thing that always helps tho, is going abroad - lots of sunshine. It clears right up.

Can't wait to emigrate Cool

Has anyone been experiencing nausea and vomiting as well as the coughing?
I have had a weak chest and irritating cough for about a month now, at first the cough was fierce and made me want to puke too, subsided a little but now seems to have worsened and tonight I feel constantly nauseous and have begun vomiting.
I think it's gonna have to be a trip to the doctors tomorrow.
