Just watched him bumping his conceited gums on C4 news basically saying that because the French have historically done some bad things, they are therefore not civilised, (or at least in relationship to certain people who have been on the news all week). Talk about warped moral equivalence.

I don't think I've every read or seen him say anything that didn't leave me thinking "tw*t".

He must live near Stockwell, I saw him there in the Summer on his bike, all dressed in black and he had a little dog in the butcher basket. I think it was a Chihuahua but not certain about that, might have been a Pom.

It's hard work reading any of his stuff, almost as painful as listening to him.
He did the ''A Point of View'' slot on Sunday morning Radio4 for a spell.
The moment they introduced him I'd switch it off.

I was listening to a Radio 4 panel show last week featuring Will Self, Jeremy Hardy, Stephen K Amos, and Sue Perkins, chaired by Sandi Toksvig.
After 10 minutes my radio blew itself up to save it and me from further punishment.

I went to a talk he was doing on the islands of St Kilda at the Edinburgh Book Festival a few years ago.
Not only had he never been there, he knew absolutely nothing about them.

The Leopard, when I saw him he looked clean to me. He was peddling away fairly competently anyway at a reasonable pace.

He seems to try to use the most uncommon words he can think of and has no idea how much that alienates ordinary people.

Started to read one of his books once. It started going on about something to do with sh1tting in the remains of the severed neck of a decapitated tramp's body. Then he told me, as the reader, that I didn't know the difference between "sympathise" and "empathise". I did.

I watched him on question time defending the two cants that killed James Bulger.
More or less said they didn't know what they were doing as they were too young to be evil.
He got really indignant when someone opposed hid opinion and said he knew what he was talking about as he'd studied the case.
Horrible person.

I usually find him interesting to listen to, but watching him on C4 news, he came across as a French hating pompass ass. His point about the French history of barbarism was pathetic. So what? All countries have a savage barbaric past, but the French (and most western countries) have moved on. Today we are a much more tolerant and respectful society, respecting others and their rights (inc free speech). UNLIKE these islamic retards who revel in their ignorance.

I speak several languages, and have studied Ancient Greek, Latin and Hebrew.

I knew he was a wrong 'un when he used a word I'd never come across before in a piece he wrote glorying the beard.

And surprisingly, I haven't come across it since.

I haven't seen him for several years and I had to do a double take, he didnt look too well to me.

Self's career, like Hairy Brand, is based on using pretentious words to sound like he's smart and cover up the fact he's actually a f***wit.

I've seen him on question time, using some quite ridiculously obscure word when much more accessable words for the same thing are available, then immediately smugly explain the meaning of the word to the audience and obviously feel he's in some way superior for it.

He's a complete tw*t. Only useful purpose in this world might be on a scrabble team, but you'd probably rather lose than put up with him .

I wonder, when he goes on things like Question Time, are we, the license payer, paying for that?

Or do they do it for free just for the promotion?

Not sure to be honest but I think they get a nominal fee but a generous  massage to their egos.
