After demanding independence so that they could protect their NHS system the first thing Scotland does when the ebola victim happened was transfer her to London for treatment ? Yeah, sure the SNP would look after the health service in Scotland as well as the Labour party have done in Wales.

Firstly Scotland didn't ask for independence. A resounding 62% did not vote for independence.
Others have answered your point on the nurse being transferred to London, I would have thought that was obvious.
Lastly it is the UKs National Health Service.

This vote was called for and driven by the SNP who only managed to get 38% of the electorate to vote for independence.
Simple maths tells you that 62% didn't.

The independence referendum question, which voters answered with "Yes" or "No", was "Should Scotland be an independent country?". The "No" side won, with 2,001,926 (55.3%) voting against independence and 1,617,989 (44.7%) voting in favour. The turnout of 84.6% was the highest recorded for an election or referendum in the United Kingdom since the introduction of universal suffrage.

Salmond wanted independence. He asked the electorate to vote for independence.
Only 38% of the electorate voted yes. Therefore 62% didn't.

The difference between the 55% who voted No and the 45% who voted Yes was approximately 400,000 votes - 2m to 1.6m.

If you consider that the latest census revealed that well over 500,000 people resident in Scotland and eligible to vote come from England, NI or Wales (17,000), and are most likely to have voted No then it should never seriously be claimed that the majority of Scots voted against independence. The likelihood is that the reverse is true.

Perhaps next time only Scots living in Scotland should be allowed to vote on the future of Scotland...

"So we will tax houses in London and the South East to pay for 1,000 new nurses in the Scottish NHS. It's a real win-win for Scotland.

"If Labour wins the election this May and win again in 2016 we will start recruiting those nurses on day one."

When asked if Mr Miliband had approved the policy, Mr Murphy said: "I didn't ask him, I have no idea. I am sure he probably will."

The irony is you probably think your an anti-westMinster liberal type who cares about the poor and vulnerable and abhors the tories and UKIP for their right wing racist ways but you are quite happy to disenfranchise people based merely on their race and nationality simply because they have the audacity to disagree with your political leanings.

Firstly Scotland didn't ask for independence. A resounding 62% did not vote for independence.

You're a LIAR akabula, plain and simple, like the mob who called themselves Better Together.  You are twisting facts.

Agree or not: 55% of those who voted voted No. Your quote of 62 % assumes that ALL NON VOTERS would have voted no.

As I said, YOU SIR ARE A LIAR.

By the way, I'm still waiting on you explaining your master theory Laugh "It's all based on a Braveheart theme".Laugh

It's been good to see the various people, politicians and others, debate independence. One thing has been evident though from those that would vote yes and it's a distinct lack of factual detail. It's all based on a Braveheart theme

Hilarious! Give us some "factual detail" akabula and expand on your lie based theory that "it's all based on a Braveheart theme".

@ Alias Who the **** do you think you are to demand someone tell you what their political leanings are on a forum. WTF business is that of yours.
As regards your second point I have answered that already but here goes again. I want the Union to remain so no matter who you quote I don't want to be governed by Holyrood. As regards a Tory government then as long as it has been democratically voted in I will obviously go along with that.
Lets think over what Labour governments have done for us in recent times. Took us into wars, sold all our gold at knockdown prices and set the scene for an economic collapse. Yes good old Labour we can trust them. Can't we?

As for the price of oil, the SNP/Scottish govt forecast was BELOW that of the UK govt figure. akabula attempts more LIES in saying:

SNP who told us we were on the verge of another oil industry boom.
What happened?
prices immediately fell to $60 a barrel and are now at $50.
The whole of the Scottish economy was based on a predicted price of $113.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS the oil was claimed as a bonus by the SNP. On the other hand, UK govts have used it for decades to bail themselves out, and it's they who are cr@pping it now. On your knees? Like akabula when he brown noses the royals?

The frustration is all with akabula and other SNP/freedom haters who thought that SNP/YES alliance would roll over after the referendum. What happened? HUGE surge in membership. Roll on general election.

Just a bonus               Grin

whit aboot the surplus ?  Whoops

the oil fund ?            Laugh

SCOTLAND’S North Sea revenues would have slumped to one fifth of the SNP’s predictions in the first year following a Yes vote, a watchdog’s report has suggested.

Opposition parties have accused the Scottish Government of the “worst kind of deceit” after the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) claimed oil revenues would be about £1.25 billion, instead of £6.9 billion heralded by the SNP, in 2016-17.

Labour has now stepped up calls for an inquiry into the validity of official government statistics in light of the price slump, which was under way before the referendum vote.

A summit is to be held in Aberdeen in the New Year to address the impact of the slump. Leading oil industry figures have warned that thousands of jobs are facing the axe in the North Sea after the price fell below $60 a barrel – from a summer high of $110.

Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson said: “The SNP told the people of Scotland that the oil price would rise, it would stay high and there would be so much surplus revenue, Scotland could afford an oil fund for the future as well as finance all of the Scottish Government’s day-to-day spending commitments as well. Expert after expert pointed out how fanciful this was – and yet Alex Salmond, Nicola Sturgeon and John Swinney insisted a new oil boom was on the way. It was nonsense then and it is nonsense now.

“It was the worst kind of deceit to try and bribe voters before the referendum and it is to Scotland’s great credit that the majority voters saw through their fantasy economics. Now the oil price has crashed, their silence is deafening.”

OIL FUND?  The UK is one of only TWO oil producing countries which has never built an oil fund. WHY? Because they've consistently wasted and blown the revenue.

Opposition parties have accused the Scottish Government

The status quo was that Scotland was part of the UK. The SNP agitated for a referendum to change the status quo; in the resulting referendum 38% of the eligible population voted to change the status quo.

62% did not.

These facts are pretty unarguable, I would suggest.

jed, in elections and referendums people who do not vote are not usually included in results. That is to say that of the people who actually voted 1.6m, or 45%, voted yes and 2m, 55%, voted No.

By your calculations (and that of Mr Sevco - though no surprise he has a problem with counting), 47% of those eligible to vote, voted to stay in the union, 53% did not.

Hope this clarifies things for you.

The result read:

45% yes, 55% no.

Therefore a mere 5.1 percent swing would have reversed the decision, and that only after lie upon lie by the unionists. These are the numbers that count. Next time you won't NEED a count.

bnb, jed, akabula and all of the other hun supporting, crawling unionists are spitting blood now as the watch SNP membership rise and rise. Greens too, and they've probably overtaken akabula's Libdums.Laugh
