Strangely enough i was going to start a thread about James Cordon but not connected to his One Boiled Egg.
He is moving to America to present the Late Late Show. He is box office. Who would have thought it? |

Quite a backlash about this on social media and the whole system becoming a joke ! Incidentally, he was recognised for his services to drama. At times I do find him entertaining but other times he is just terrible to watch.

What bitter talentless fckers you lot are. Corden may not be likeable but to suggest he has no talent is ridiculous. Pathetic pratts you are.....Different point altogether. So what if he has tal;ent or not, does that mean he deserves an OBE? |

hard to predict I'd say, they certainly didn't take to Piers Morgan, but Corden could just pull it off if he plays it right, interesting to see what happens, the US might just like his style (?) |

Look at Ricky Gervais, he locked onto the American love of being shocked. Corden is of a similar mould, he will shock them in that loverbly English way.

The Office is probably overrated and Gavin and Stacy underrated.
Gervais has 17 years on Cordon, no coincidence the Yanks have taken to both, because they are similar. Gervais is a rather creepy chap as well pandy. |

G&S was co-written by Corden and Ruth Jones.
It was pretty good imo. Great scene when Smithy and Bryn were were working out in his "fitness studio". But is he worthy of an OBE? Nah |

Dunno what is worth an OBE, the whole system is on its @rse as fas I am concerned. My point is simply that he has talent as a writer and talent as a comic actor. Quite a lot of talent imo. I think he can be very funny. his England motivational thing was well funny too. Haven't seen him do anything else but can imagine it is sh1t. Spread yourself too thin and you produce sh1te. Whether he is worth an OBE is debatable though why he should receive so much hatred on here is a mystery as he has rec'd great reviews on stage co wrote a couple of decent shows and done nothing to deserve such hostility though I agree that the film Lesbian Vampire Killers was not one of his better efforts

can't really take the honours system seriously, can't find confirmation that Rolf's been stripped of his CBE anywhere and he was on the honours list as recently as 2012.
Bit harsh to have a go at Cliff who's not been charged with or convicted of anything to the best of my knowledge, he did make some criminal records in the eighties particularly though. Esther Rantzen has presumably been rewarded for her cosmic aftertiming in the Saville and Harris cases. |

He has got up there and done it, fair play to the chap.
Put most forumites up there on a stage with an audience and you would be able to smell the fear and sense their testicles tightening up.  Yet they are the armchair ex-spurts! Cordon has stones, big stones, bigger stones than any of us here, and that, well that is hard to take. |
