and the queens speech, it was so robotic and scripted for her it's painful to listen to her force her way through it.

What did you think she was going to speak about, football matches on Boxing Day?

Congratulations akabula for uncovering such an obvious typo. Cool

Still, it's worth trying anything to distract you from sucking the parasitic tit which is royalty.

AKABULA was the poster who nauseatingly kept saying "better together" on every single Scottish independence thread going a couple of months go, it's pathetic hanging on to the English coat tails, do you as a Scotsman have no pride? I suppose as a Sevco supporter pride is a bit of a sore subject atmLaughLaugh

My mum and sister went to London for the Buckingham Palace tour so they could gawp at the priceless artefacts on show. When they came back they moaned about the wealth in Kensington, saying it was obscene.

They are quite happy for my nephews to be deemed the future subjects of another wee boy, just because of the accident of birth. They don't accept that Prince George is 'better' than my nephews but see no issue with him having the most privilaged life of any child ever born, before becoming head of state, no matter if he turns out to be a right ****.

Society can never be perfect but monarchy is very damaging imo. The double standards, the sense of entitlement, some people deemed 'better' than others, learning not to question, just to obey.... none of that can be right.

I understand certain arguments for monarchy rather than a republic but surely the ostentatious manner of our monarchy should be toned down if it is to continue.

I said on another thread recently that if you get a dingy flat in a crime ridden sh1thole you are a scrounger. Get a dozen palaces and castles and you are royalty.

As a society we should be striving for better than this, better than wetting yourself at the sight of a baby already deemed your better just because who his parents are.

You seem to forget that the people in the OP are there voluntarily. Not by Royal Decree!
By:
john92
When: 28 Dec 14 14:06
Voluntarily only if you ignore the society in which we live in, which promotes this sort of royal worship and trains people to ignore the sorts of logic and standards that they would apply to other situations in life.

The British really are in danger of becoming a petty and charmless bunch. Be careful, how a nation is perceived by the rest of the world can change very quickly. Certainly it shows an inability to understand the full danger and horror that exists in most of the worlds countries to be so reckless with Britains history and institutions.

The world has changed and it is the unthinking and brainwashed nature of those against the monarchy who are not up to speed with the modern world.

Well said john.

It's crazy that in the 21st century, the people of Britain are still not able to decide who should be head of state.

What is so enlightened about the 21C? Perhaps it is sheer arrogance to assume that we are in any way different or superior to previous generations.

Every successful society must have scroungers, this was first taught to us by Socrates..it is essential.

I haven't seen or heard The Queen's speech, since the one where she was talking about her horrible bottom.

This is not to say that I have deliberately avoided watching, but we are not a family who sit around watching TV all day!

The Queen has served this country for over 60 years with pride.
God bless you ma'am.
