But in any case, Thornberry ought to have had more sense than to tweet her contempt for any voters, no matter how contemptible they might be. Even the timing of her resignation is stupidly wrong. Tomorrow's headlines would have led on the Tories losing -- now it will be Labour discombobulated. |

The Labour MP said she thought there was “a lot of mischief making” going on. “You know I think the truth is, while the byelection’s going on people haven’t got a lot to say,” she added. “They can say there’s people out on doorsteps knocking on doors. And I suspect that those kind of people are trying to promote a somewhat prejudiced attitude towards Islington. “I was brought up on a council estate and I’ve never seen a house where people can’t see out of the window because of England flags. It was just trying to give, to the people who follow me on Twitter, a kind of picture of what the Rochester byelection is like.” |

I've not looked at her twitter stream and if she's put up many random photos with that hashtag I'd have some sympathy for her, but I've seen her on the Daily Politics etc and .. she comes across fairly horribly.

in council houses...the problem is, these are labour supporters.. She is the sort of labour MP who should have sent to posh Tory areas To show the Tories some labour supporters are posh like them..so they can vote labour just my own opinion |

I've looked at her Twitter feed - in some ways, her apology tweet is worse than the flag one because it insults the intelligence of anybody having the misfortune to read it.
I've seen her on TV plenty of times - nauseating,patronising, pompous,insincere are the adjectives that immediately spring to mind... not a party political view by the way, there's plenty of Tory politicians I don't like either... |

If one owns the property one is entitled to fly whatever Flag one wants but one has to get planning permission from the council to erect the flag pole.
