What's needed is a strong Left Wing party.
Labour have lost a lot of voters. One would have thought that with the catastrophic events created by the Conservatives on huge section of society, Labour would have been storming ahead, but they've squandered and lost, opportunity after opportunity. The frightening prospect is the numbers of people who will vote for UKIP in the belief they can bring about a change. But this party is a joke - with no policies, so it's a waste of a vote. |

Rather than a change by no-vote revolution why not promote the organization already in place, one that has worked hard to do so? Brand`s biggest fear is not be recognized, it would take the spotlight away from his musketeering if he introduced this, from the Green Party.
- Basic income - Increase of the state pension from £97/week to £170/week - Renationalisation of the railways and energy sector - Abolition of tuition fees - EU referendum - Against TTIP - Close up tax loopholes - House of Lords reform - 'Robin Hood tax' (Google it) - Donations from corporations/tax avoiders etc are not accepted - Monetary/banking reform - Free home insulation programme - Save the NHS from privatisation and cuts - More liberal drug laws - restorative/rehabilitative justice to reduce crime and re-offending - End fractional reserve banking - Free home insulation scheme to keep energy bills down - Investment in public services - No more counter-productive austerity |

Yes the Greens need to re-brand, any recommendations? they need so financial backing as well, i am struggling to think of anyone who could possibly back them? Shame some millionaire celeb doesn`t want to benefit such a Party. |

That Newsnight interview is some piece of work. It reminded me of the Monty Python (?) political interview where the interviewer goes, "May I call you Edward"...then "Ted" then "Eddie baby..." It's like Newsnight invited a random guy into the studio, or as Brand would say, a random "geezer", who is mentally ill.
Anybody remember Ilona Staller AKA La Cicciolina? Maybe British politics will get as farcical as Italian politics. "In September 2011, it was revealed that Staller was eligible for and would be receiving a yearly pension of 39,000 euros from the Italian state as a result of her five years in the country's parliament." |

You have to laugh Facts. Brand can dream up thoughts of revolution but can not see beyond Amazon to sell his book. So much for Big business vs small business!
Independent publishing via an independent purchase address is not an alternative then? Give to the monopoly giants who the book attacks. Why? because it will create more profit. Deep deep sigh. |

Seems to me that the book is a missed opportunity to illustrate the very arguments Russell Brand is making. Instead of publishing it the traditional way, he could've tried to set up some sort of profit-sharing initiative, so that the proceeds were distributed fairly between everyone involved: from the paper producers, to the binders, to the marketers, to the writer. It's not a perfect way to achieve fairness, but it's a start, and it would reflect the fact that lots of people play important roles in the process of producing a book, not just the writer and the publisher (who usually cream off all the profit). |

Not surprising the guys a hypocritical ****.
Look at the **** videos he produced about the referendum. Had a dig at the casino style financially reckless big banks then a minute later tried to dismiss any financial concerns people might have about their mortgages becoming owned by a foreign bank by being patronising and talking babyish and implying that such concerns were down to racism. |

Fair point about deciding which vehicle to sell the book through. Not sure whether that would be his decision or the publishers. Depends what the profits from the book sale are going to be used for. Could be they are to be used for ' good causes' as RB has stated he's not interested in money anymore. In which case Amazon would be the one to make the highest level of sales. But I agree there is a dichotomy |

Facts, i know people on Brand`s wave length that have suggested to me that we should get rid of money and start bartering between ourselves again as a system. Hardly progressive is it? They would be happier and more spiritually in harmony living in goat sheds at the end of allotments after all the land is taken back off the landed gentry and shared out for communal usage amongst the people.
Unfortunately you have to work within the system, raging against the machine with a false sense of purpose and hanging on the words of a dreamer who has the option of a very comfortable existence will lead more people into cardboard boxes. |

The Green manifesto ticks many of the boxes of Brand`s awakening Dotch. In fact Brand wants spiritual awakening to take it beyond that manifesto so hard to know Brand can be less mad.
He seems to think the people can pull together in harmony, he will say there is no need for any authority, rise people, create Utopia, i will see you later!! Off back to LA for a bit!  |

Interesting to read that he is not happy doing "big" Hollywood movies...not happy sh@gging around Hollywood...not happy doing anything, really...he is a manic malcontent, too agitated to look at a graph or listen attentively to another person's opinion. It was noticeable that he seemed to run out of energy in the Newsnight studio, around the 12mins. mark of the interview.

Not surprised, he had arrived at the Newsnight studios direct from a London theatre where he had been interviewed live ( shown simultaneously In cinemas around the uk) for c 2 hrs. Prior to that he had been campaigning with and talking to members of a group about to be evicted from their homes. Not a bad days work for what some would call a lazy, idle , selfish weirdo. |

He had a fookin' contractual obligation with Random House to provide a manuscript of 100,000 words - and the book costs £20, it's not being handed out in the street, for free, like an election pamphlet. The book is full of wacky filler, like tobacco that's been laced with dogsh1t. It's a 10,000 word crap student dissertation padded out to get a fat cheque. |
