we have a nespresso coffe machine,we buy pods from them online.
lidl had an offer last week at 1/3 rd the price for a brand we like better!
pods 9p  each normally 19p.
nespresso  30p each they must be seething!

Their Petit Chebra goat's cheese is the best I've ever tasted. I've been given ludicrously expensive cheese in the past in return for allowing a prize-winning herd of Golden Guernseys to graze my back yard, but it was nothing like as good as Lidl's offering - a definite smell of goat to it, but subtle and creamy at the same time.

Their Scottish smoked salmon is the same price as other supermarkets' "value" lines, except it's the real thing and not bland, gristly offcuts.

Their big bags of mixed nuts, brazils, walnuts and mixed fruit are one of the best ways going for losing weight. Keep a few bags in the pantry and open one whenever you'd normally stuff yourself with sweets or biscuits.

A shortage of Salmon is causing real problems between natural predators like bears and us humans.

It's OK TT - you can officially rest easy.  Lidl are really great.

I like LIDL - It's got limited stock ranges - but the prices are right - Also the food is more European. Which is an advantage over the muck the UK people are prepared to eat. I stock up on tuna as the tuna they sell in the UK is Swill. Tuna flakes are like they mop the floors in the tuna processing plant and squeeze it into a tin. The Europeans don't stand for utter toxic smeg in a tin. You get nice pink tuna. nice pastrami. amazing chicken noodle soup for 89p. nice fresh rolls from their baking machines. Wish the shop was nearer to where i live. Lots of unusual items you don't come across in the usual supermarkets. Like wasabi crisps. lobster.chocolate gingerbread. cheap choc.
The media brand them as cheap lines - Food snobs. Veg is veg. Meat is meat. F off you snobby media judgemental twits. If you have money to waste send me it through the mail. Some people want to waste their budgets going to waitrose or marks and sparks. The privilege of paying through the nose.

fish should not  have fat like that screaming from beneaththewaves ,look at a wild fish and look at a farmed fish ,Its like the rings on a tree ,wild fish close together ,farmed fish are far apart and separated by a thick white line ,its fat ,probably a waste product from another animal food process .
Fish fat should be omega oil not lard thats why i say its a con ,slowly they are running out of proper aquatic sources of protien ,they collect it from all over the globe ,other oceans are being robbed of basic  valuable food sources and put into pellets and produce farmed salmon at a ratio of 7:1 .
You are correct we should just eat the pellets ,but the problem is they should be feeding other species .The damage being done is irreparable and the aquatic food industry have infiltrated all levels of known intelligence and distorted the issue and will claim all sorts of shiote but the truth is they are only in it for a cheap buck and all this talk of cheap food is playing right up their street .
They are hiding behind the Scottish banner of a clean natural resource whilst actually destroying the very thing they are imitating .

You are correct in thinking a basic product like Sardines is much more environmentally friendly and safer  ,along with mackerel ect ect ect .

Smoked Scottish farmed salmon is a blot on the marine  biodiversity of the planet ,hopefully they can move the farming units onto land but the profit margins will massively reduce because they are allowed to use the ocean as a  dumping ground for fish waste and chemicals ,instead they are now targeting IRE as the next big exploitation zone .They need stopped and the only way is through consumer pressure.This fred is well intentioned but deeply flawed on many levels .

I am no eco warrior but farmed fish is a harmful product that damages the environment and the very product it seeks to imitate .

I had that three meat roast weirdness a while back.

Polish employees at Lidl in Kirkcaldy, Fife, have been banned from speaking to each other in their native language. Those who break the rule have been threatened with unemployment

The Daily Mail spoke to one staff member who insisted that some of the customer specifically chose the store because they didn't speak English and knew they could make themselves understood.

The newspaper also reported that local Polish people were incensed, and that The Polish Shop in the High Street had started a petition - which had attracted 100 signatures. A Facebook campaign has also begun, and more than 500 people have shown their support.

A Lidl spokesperson told The Scotsman newspaper: "It is Lidl UK company policy that staff speak in English to customers at all times, irrespective of nationality. This is for the benefit of all of our customers as well as our staff and is clearly stipulated in the employee handbook, which each member of staff receives during their induction." It added: "We are very proud to be an international employer that supports a diverse work force."

Well, I bought some stewing steak from Lidl earlier this week and it knocked spots off the same/similar thing you can buy from Tesco.

Lidl is my new favourite shop in the whole wide world.
