Any asteroid falling from the sky would have a tremendous amount of energy. Here's a typical example. In 2028, the asteroid 1997XF11 will come extremely close to Earth but will miss the planet. If something were to change and it did hit Earth, what you would have is a mile-wide asteroid striking the planet's surface at about 30,000 mph. An asteroid that big travelling at that speed has the energy roughly equal to a 1 million megaton bomb. It's very likely that an asteroid like this would wipe out most of the life on the planet.

If this asteroid or an undetected asteroid were due to hit wiping out the human race within 24 hours notice period, what would you do on your last day on earth? after thinking about it for a bit, I honestly think if it came down to it I'd probably just make a cup of tea and hope for the best

If it was an undetected asteroid I would just do the same as always as I wouldn't know any different.

I think there would be a lot of resignation & acceptance of the situation, not so sure there would be mad panic, I doubt hiding in the closet would help Plain

Undetected as in until the last 24 hours, most asteroids that even come close to earth are known about, but not all are marked

I just imagine the streets would be absolute bedlam, so might as well stay indoorsGrin

use my neighbours nuclear fall out shelter for myself and my  family, sing songs, then invite the whole town to stay  over, playing games such as eye spy and guess the animal noise. theres not enough room for everyone so id kick my annoying neighbour out of his own shelter meaning certain death for him. We then realise that he needs us and if we're gonna get  thru this thing we need to support each other, the asteroid would burn up in our atmosphere on entry anyway  and prob end up the size of a pea.

I'm tempted to say I'd do a 'Big Vern' and sort a few people out but in reality I wouldn't. Ideally I'd probably get a kilo of Columbian marching powder and hammer that whilst watching the racing with Emma Watson and Anna Kournikova who'd be getting it on, obviously.

I would without doubt take some highly euphoric drugs like heroin and drinking whisky.

Given my medical conditions, heroin could kill me, but what the hell does it matter. Might as well go out floating in the clouds.

True
I'm surprised it hasn't happened these past 100,000 years tbh Gery
I'm trying to stay positive though , so have the mindset that any asteroid would actually be sucked slightly left or right of the earth due to the natural magnetical pull in the universe Crazy
but Slippy 'd just be relieved his house is still standing next morning Happy
