Should be 10 minimum.  The reasoning the judge gave when explaining her verdict was sufficiently ridiculous to mean that no-one should be surprised if, as you predict, it's 0.

Unbelievable summing up by the judge. She totally ignored about 90% of the evidence brought by the prosecution.

if they let him go home... will he be allowed to own guns? Seems to me he has more need of them now, than before he shot the girlfriend. Everybody liked him OTT before the shooting? Somehow he needed da guns. Is there a helpline to send him some guns.

Pistoruis is a broken man - Daily Mail

No pun intended!

Amazing - probation officer, as well as recommending 3 years house arrest, also recommended Pistorius should clean a museum for 16 hours a month.

Wow, that'll teach him not to shoot his girlfriends in future, the prospect of dusting some ornaments for half an hour a day.

Quite staggering stuff.

The more this trial goes on the more it sickens me, can't quite believe the **** i'm reading about how he shouldn't go to jail.

Surely the sentence has to be predominantly based on the crime? Any charity work should be ni

Prison would punish him in a way that was not constructive, Ms Vergeer said, adding that he was "extremely broken" and would "only deteriorate" there.

Why even bother with the trial then? Just go straight to sentencing and let him walk free because prison wouldn't benefit him

'Shockingly inappropriate' sums it up

Just hope the judge seems it the same way and all this arguing is largely irrelevant

I'm a bit worried that he'll be too broken to polish the exhibits in the museum properly, and that as a consequence the public will not enjoy their visit as much. I'd like to think for the sake of everyone they will let him off this heinous punishment.

TBF a nice comfy chair with fluffed up cushions and a warm cup of tea should help him reflect on his mishap. Anything else is simpy being punitive and is just not cricket.

Some of this argument in court for not sending him to prison is beyond belief:

"South African prisons would not be able to cater for Pistorius' disability.

She says they have no rails, ramps etc he would not even be able to shower."

Oh dear !  He would not be able to shower.  There must be hundreds of disabled prisoners already in prison in South Africa, how do they manage ? !  And to serve 3 yrs house arrest for shooting dead his girlfriend, just disbelief !  He should get the maximum sentence of 15 years in prison..... and f@ck if he would be able to shower or not !!!!

The way this is going - and that judge is so unpredictable - I wouldn't even like to even guess which way this is going !

He deserves capital punishment. Also the court system no longer works, people in positions of power
in S.Africa such as this judge are too stupid to be making decisions.

The whole trial and this childish aftermath has been nauseating.

We heard today that Pisstorious has been paying into a monthly account for the Steencamps because they had 'money problems'. And then Harry Nil Point tells the court (sic) that he regards this as "blood money" and all of it will be paid back? This is after the Steencamps lawyer said that they didn't accept any money?

How the wholly fack could any parent accept money (if true) from the twunt who had taken their daughters life beggars belief to me.

Another reason he should not go to prison is when they play the weekly game of bingo when number 11 is pulled out he may get teased by the inmates.
