Hmmm. Perhaps so. However, I've had a little think about this case in general and I realise that I need to see a timeline of the events, starting from when the child was first found to be missing.
Events like: When reported to police. When search launched. When cctv checked. When border notified. When the car was hired and returned. When the 'blood' and 'cadaver' scents were discovered. When the British police became involved. When the specialist police team arrived from Lisbon to take charge of the case.

I think these answers would be far more informative that theories involving the Pope and the British prime minister. More helpful the suggesting that "IF they lived on a council estate..." or "I wouldn't do that" or "Why didn't they answer these questions?" which are not really of much help in untangling the actual problem. The actual problem being "WHERE is Madeleine?"

Can anybody indicate where I might be able to find the timeline that I seek?

Thank you, Wesdaq. I never realised that it's a proper word. Accurate too. I noted several synonyms but NO antonyms. Unusual, I thought. What word would accurately describe somebody who in offence (as opposed to defence) of something controversial?

"Critic" comes to mind.

B and B. Had a look on Google and I found a site called the McCann files. There is some info there so maybe I can figure out when they  hired the car and when they returned it. There's an awful lot of bumf on that site, though. Sad

There is nothing new to add, nothing, the ground has been worn out, never has one topic gone around in circles as much as this one, until new evidence appears, it's over

Yes and save the mccanns from having to face the truth and that is that no matter what happened to Maddie they, and nobody else, placed her in danger by deserting their parental responsibilities.
A selfish couple who put their own enjoyment before that of the safety and well-being of their children.

Save them from what, how is putting them to task on a gambling forum EIGHT YEARS LATER going to change how they think or feel, I doubt they've heard you or ever seen this thread on a site they've probably never visited. Only thing you are doing repeatedly and endlessly moralising to make yourself feel better and tbh it is now incredibly tedious and tiresome. Time people moved on with their lives imo.

The Mccanns can rightly continue their fight to try and find their daughter but no more government money should go into the case. There are plenty of other British children who have gone missing but they haven't had a fraction of the funding the Mcanns have had . If I was in there position I would be offended by the Mccanns preferential treatment.
Sincereley hope the Mccans find out what happened to their daughter but no more so than other British citizens who have lost a child.

Thousands of children went missing in the Manchester area for various reasons without any great effort to find or assist them. Thousands of asian girls suffer genital mutilation which is a crime in the UK. The hospitals and doctors are very aware of it but again the authorities do nothing.
One child goes missing in the Algarve and it seems nothing is too much trouble for the police to solve this one case.
By:

'Going missing' is not quite the same as 'abducted'. How many of your Manchester thousands were actually taken against their will?
As regards the McCann case: It is either an abduction, manslaughter or murder. Unless you are prepared to believe that she simply wandered off on her own...personally, I don't think that is too plausible.

FGM is only a crime if it is performed in this country (I might easily be wrong with that and would appreciate any guidance). I have no doubt that the police are more active in stopping this than one sees on occasional news reports.

I doubt they've heard of you either, but you and a few others seem to want to protect them on here.

Kate McCann was told by the police NOT to hand out old photos as the 'leak' in the child's eye colour was much more noticeable when she was younger, and could put her in danger from the 'abductor'.

But she carried on handing out the older photos, that she already had on her person for some reason. The Mark Warner rep said they haven't got the equipment to make those copies in their site office, which is where Kate McCann said she got them.

Meanwhile...
back behind the sofa, that the McCanns say they never moved, was where both the dogs found their respective scents of 'cadaver' and 'blood'

Having considered the wording again, it wasn't 'on the floor' behind the sofa, it was 'where the floorboards touched the skirting boards.'

Iirc, the McCann's blamed Madeleine's grazed knee.

Grazed knees aren't dead, and to get a knee of any size to fit in the 'where the floorboards touched the skirting boards' takes some doing.

Imo, this means that not only was something dead and bleeding definitely there, but the floor has been scrubbed and in doing so, whoever did it has pushed minute traces of water with blood or flesh in it under the skirting board.

If I HAD to make a bet, I'd be inclined to take a shade of odds-on that the child is dead. It's a bet I definitely wouldn't mind losing, but I can't envisage it.

The govt know it won't stop. They've let this culture in and now they're stuck with it, and clinics are being set up for it in London.

My sister-in-law is a senior midwife in east London and Essex, and tells Mr CMAT that FGM is common on her wards. But she's not allowed to make notes on it, or take it any further.

Let's face it this is a fascinating mystery with a quite enormous amount of anomalies.
If we are to believe some of what we have been told about the McCann's behaviour it is almost as if they expected her to be taken. We are told that Kate had pictures of Madeleine ready for distribution and also called 2 old schoolfriends in the early hours immediately after the "abduction" informing them that she was about to put in motion a campaign to find Madeleine.
Gerry is so shocked that he,alledgedly, plays tennis next day and meanwhile the McCanns always insist that she has been abducted despite there being no evidence to support this.
As Madeleine was 3 at the time any parent with a child of that age will tell you that they are perfectly capable of letting themselves out of an apartment and wandering off to whatever fate.
It is no wonder that people are still intrigued by this case years later because the truth seems as far away as ever.

I have just seen one of your posts on the football forum scandanavian, you are one these PC To$$ers

If somebody says a wrong word it is the end of the world

But if somebody does not properly care and protect their children leading to the disappearance and probable

murder of one of them...nobody must a bad word about them

I for one am glad people do criticise the McCanns, it shows a sense of decency which you seems to lack

What is worse a bad word or the failure to protect a child, ask yourself???????????????????

Not particularly, but I don't understand why a chairman would hire a known racist when a)there is an ongoing investigation that could still unearth even more stories and b) a racist that has to work with a multicultural squad.

As for speculation, you've got basic facts wrong on so many occasions it's laughable

If all you can resort to is insults than tbh, you can argue amongst yourself as I wouldn't bring myself to that level.

Now then, Scandanavian_Haven. Can you tell me when they hired the car (if it was after the disappearance)...and when it was returned? I'm trying to ascertain who had access to the vehicle between Maddie's disappearance and the discovery (possibly) of cadaver scent. I noted your reply earlier but I don't know which it referred to. Could you help clear this up?

They hired the car on may 29th. Between may 4th-may 29th the car had over 50 people in it, the cavadar dogs were brought to portugal 3 months later after may 4th.

As regards the mccanns being unaware of this forum or any other then who are you kidding!
The mccanns have apologists on every forum going. Sad peep who would defend the mccanns at every turn despite them putting their kids in danger night after night.
