Has anyone on here ever wrote a song? Music and words, like? I've just finished one - took several months to write, with a chorus, bridge, title and everything.

I'm more Bernie Taupin than Elton John. Fair play to those that can be both.

Yes, the chorus goes, "T1tty woman, I like your style - I like your stuff."

Oh why must men and horses die
To satisfy...

Just because he didn't agree with the sentiment of the song...Sad

One of mine was about slashing your wrists, it was called Sweet Red Escape. Was aimed at the Goth market

Write one hit song, have it copywrited and sold to a big label and you are set for life off the back of the royalties, I think though, there is an exclusive writing club, a select group of prolific professional song writers that the big labels go to, to ask to write a song for a specific artist, cathy Dennis being one.

That Mungo Jerry guy who wrote "In the Summertime" must be minted. It never goes out of fashion. It's currently in an advert. I was hoping that "Titty Woman" could be used by Berlei or Michelle Mone's bra conglomerate. Would love to score an ad. $$££$£$££

He's definitely dead and would never come up with something like Sweet Red Escape.

Is that the first draft? think you might need to tweak it a bit.

How's about:

T1tty woman,
Walking down the street,
T1tty woman,
The kind I'd like to meet,
T1tty woman,
I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could have T1ts as big as you

... something like that set to a catchy tune? Plain

Clouseau, I have to admit that is actually better than my own version. I feel like Salieri in the presence of Mozart. Sad

Hold on - that is a bit ripped off from Roy Morbison, is it not??
By:

When: 04 Sep 14 23:15
As I say, tweak it a bit and no-one will notice:

T1tty woman,
From the Stobart fleet,
T1tty woman,
Off to deliver meat,
T1tty woman,
You drive a lorry, you've only got one tooth
No bloke should have T1ts as big as you

Crags - he did SUGARPLUMS which are SWEET and SORT OF DARK RED...also, he dreamed that he wrote it when running away (i.e. ESCAPING) from jail...so, in point of fact, I am basically spot on and you must now feel like a total jam doughnut Angry

I've got lyrics that I started a few weeks ago, but just for fun.
It goes to the wonderful tune of Sir Paul's Mull of Kintyre. It's called Custom House Park. I'll put it on here one day.

I write songs, vel. There's a 'quarter' of a song on youtube - a tribute to phil ochs. prob is I cant re-record it and it'd sound terrible if I just appeared on my laptop in front of the camera, I haven't the recording equipment to do song justice.

I can write (well, make up and put together) the music, but am not very good at lyrics.
Hence my only efforts so far being instrumental.

It's quite rewarding when you put a tune together and can sing (hum) it to yourself later.

Four Foot Fez...Full Fathom Five...Grin

"Full fathom five thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell:
Ding-dong.
Hark! now I hear them — Ding-dong, bell."

Shakey Grin
