ebul

we can complain about women being stoned to death or other extreme punishments

Steady on ebul. Keep this up and the next thing you'll be suggesting is that we write a stiff letter and who knows what that may lead to. After all it's only a bit of stoning and it isn't even everyone.

Slightly amusing Eternal
Unfortunately this is the way we must proceed

I don't think invading Muslim countries and killing large numbers is quite the answer
as well as having no moral basis whatsoever

Exactly where has this military solution succeeded Eternal?, certainly not in Iraq

Jaw jaw is better than war war usually ebul. We really could do with building a broad based coalition of both us and some of the horrible baastards if necessary to deal with this issue. Then we can move on to working on human rights within the countries of horrible baastards. No point overthrowing one horrible baastard broadly sympathetic to the west to be replaced by a bunch of blood thirsty savages.

Then we can look at the big one in the area of Israel/Palestine and start cracking some heads on both sides.

On the red button it says

The Sunni Muslim group Isis has taken control of swathes of Iraq Syria

But we are opposing Assad in Syria

So if an Isis fighter stands on the border between Syria and Iraq
if he steps into Syria he is good
but if he steps into Iraq he is bad
I am not sure what he is if he stays on the border line

Which shows up our complete stupidity in this region in my opinion
I do not think we know what we are doing
and the pile of bodies grows ever larger

This chap who leads Isis, he may be mad, but he is certainly not daft

He is a billionaire I believe, most billionaires aspire to own Premiership football clubs
but this chap want to own his own country...extreme megalomania

But for all that, this has well planned, he thinks

I only wish some of our politicians would
We can defend the Kurds and Christians and hit Isis at the same time
that would make us both good and clever
I hope Obama is at least seeing this

Can I have a link that Caliph Al Baghdaddy is a billionaire (I mean before he started invading Iraq)

the BBC keep refering to them as '...formally known as ISIS'

They've only been around for a short while, in the news for perhaps a few months and they've already developed an ego ffs.
It took Prince years to go through the 'formally known as' nonsense.
I can see them all sat around designing their own logo's over and over and practicing their signatures.
Bomb the f uckers.

This isnt about allegiances or working out who we must be siding with due to other ideologies, you'll end up tying yourself in knots. Just like capitalism isnt wholly capitalist and socialism isnt wholly socialist.
This is about a fundamental issue...whether you believe in religion or not people are free to practice their faith. If people cease to debate and force people to comply then we have to turn the **** on ourselves.

.......................................................................................

Actually it's about 92%, but for the purposes of making the point, it makes little or no difference, and I'd say that's pretty close and certainly not remote.

Keep trying with that difficult word now, I'm sure you'll get it right eventually.Laugh

You should also remember your capitals. Practice makes perfect.

No it is a euphemism for democracy, education, science, art, literature, music, the rule of law,
tolerance, equal rights, fresh water, food to eat, religious tolerance, human rights, sport, rock music,
jazz, sport, freedom of speech, human rights ...these are some of the things but they are not always
certain to continue. Europe and America are in decline and no country seems to be able to take its place.

Where exactly were you brainwashed, lfc1971?

Ever heard of Islamic art and science? Plenty of it still on view in southern Spain and Portugal, and visit the Alhambra in Granada if you want to see what they did with water.

Rule of law? Tell us about the rule of law and human rights in Guantanamo, please.

Equal rights? How long did the coloured population of the USA wait for equal rights (after slavery)? Or the native Americans for that matter?

Democracy? Like the kind delivered to Iraq and Afghanistan by Blackwater etc etc?

What a gullible fool Alias is. More has been achieved in the US alone in the last 100 years
in science, art, literature, music, medicine, inventions etc than has been, or ever will be achieved
in 1000 years in all islamic countries put together. For heavens sake try and think for yourself for once.

Maybe not superior, but we are more intelligent. It is intelligence that keeps the savagery at bay within the human species. When human life is considered so worthless, and of no significant value, and readily sacrificed for their cause/religion/big fairy in the sky, then you reveal yourself to be weak of mind and short of intellect.

I'm not excusing Christians or any other religions for a second - they have done plenty of evil down the years. I am against religion because it takes away free thought - and that is very dangerous. But some cultures and religions have moved on, they have accepted change, and become more tolerant of others who do not share their faith/belief systems. Islam is one of the least tolerant religions on the planet. Contrast this with say Buddhism for example.

For instance the Church of England has 12 million +invested in the stock exchange it is deemed a Charity ,to which it pays lip service ,and so pays minimal tax.

When one of its churches falls into disrepair they get their dopey followers to use their hard earned to pay for the repairs.

All cults use this strategy the cult keeps the profit and the sheep pay .

As a principle I could agree with you Platini

But I do not believe in either forcing religion on, or forcibly taking it away from anyone

and this is a different culture to us..if that is want they want, they have the right

however I would concede that Isis demand that everybody should convert to Sunni Muslim or die
is a tad extreme
