Only £414 for me. You can, of course, order a group of 50 named ones online to cut the cost by about 75%!

if you are serious I have some great news for you, a friend of mine who deals in football memorabilia bought the 1970 mexico full set two years ago for £2500 and sold it last year for £5500 |

the trouble with these things is they were nearly exclusively collected by kids.
i had full books of the 82, 86 and 90 ones. but i also wrote on the pages, the books got tatty and eventually thrown out. getting hold of ones in mint condition is pretty impossible. the stickers are also worth a lot more not stuck in the books, for obvious reasons. |

you are correct sideshow single stickers can go for a pony

and I have the full Esso world cup coin collection from 1970, mint condition, framed and glazed and worth bugger all
By:
I've still got several Jeff Astles, BB. They were in every packet!
By:
I always thought it would be a nice bit of memorabilia as I cannot imagine they were produced like the quantities of these stickers
By:
I've got the Esso collection from 1972 for the centenary of the FA Cup and that is also worth bugger all

THE LEEDS V ARSENAL GOLD COLORED COIN IS WORTH MORE THAN THE OTHERS PUT TOGETHER |
By:
I remember being really excited at first every time my dad gave me one of the small blue and white packets (as I remember them as being) from the local Esso garage to open and see what was in it.
I think I had one of the charts too - but never bothered to fill it in as almost every single time it was a Jeff Astle! It became quite a joke by the end of the campaign: "Will it be someone other than Jeff today?" "No, it's him again". I think I had an Alan Ball once - and that was about the only different one. |
By:
Very funny about your mum, Huggy! Were they all Jeff Astles?!
By:
my old man went to the final that year Huggy and he purchased the final gold coin outside Wembley stadium after the match
By:
WE NEVER HAD A CAR BUT MANAGED TO COLLECT THE ESSO COINS,AND ALSO THE METAL FOIL CLUB BADGES,I YHINK THERE WAS 76 OF THOSE,LIKE TOMMY WITH JEFF ASTLE,THE NEWCASTLE FOIL BADGE WAS VERY POPULAR.

do they still sell POGs? |
By:
Just opened my first and only packet of 2014 Paninis that the missus bought me a couple of weeks ago for some reason. There are 6 cards/stickers:
Switzerland, Godfrey Oboabona, Stipe Pletikosa, Vasilis Torosidis, Jonathan Mensah and Jeff Astle... Are any of these worth anything? ![]() |
By:
hahaha! Cracking stuff Clouseau!
By:
I need Stipe Pletikosa do you want to swap it?
By:
I think we can do business, Huggy.... He's an ugly fu(ker!
By:
I've just remembered - I had an ugly bugger too to go along with my Alan Ball and 4 dozen Jeff Astles but I can't remember his name. I'm going to look up who the squad was in 1970 to find him (I'll know his name when I see it). I have a feeling he didn't get a game.
By:
Keith or Henry Newton
By:
then again any of the Leeds members they were a bunch of ugly ****s
