I was at the same school that Alpha Centauri was at, who was a mate of Cathy Dennis' brother Alan, she was a couple of years below Alpha and a year below me. An even more tenuous claim to fame than Alpha's tenuous claim claimed to be. Laugh

My sisters boyfriend is a painter and decorator who was recently working on a job with Louise Redknapps dad.  I can't believe he's still working! I also live near to where the dentist Ruth Ellis married used to live.

The physio/chiropodist who once attended the Stoke City players at the old Victoria Ground (including Stan Mathews, who he reckoned was a tight git) treated (and eventually got rid) of my verruca when I was about 10.

A good friend of mines wife's sister is married to Alan Sugar.

Saw a programme about him and her a couple of years back. She seems like a very pleasant woman. Is the wife you mention the mother of Roxy from enders?

(1) My mate Julian rewired Paul Young's flat in Luton when he was still with the Q-Tips

(2) Andrew Ridgley asked me if I minded if he wedged a pub door open in a pub in Cornwall on a very hot day ... I said "Go right ahead"

No Roy, I was watching The Morning Line. I really shouldn't have bothered though. They've completely ruined the programme - and what's the matter with Emma Spencer these days? She sounds like a hectoring, plastic-faced, half wit now.
I had to keep turning the volume down every time she screeched. And what's with the gurning she does?
She didn't used to be like that.

I once cornered James Brown in an airport and got my photo taken with him, I didn't even like his songs but he was the perfect gentleman and obliged.

Jesse May (the poker commentator) KO'd me from the IPO to a sort of bad beat (75s v AA on a 773 flop)

Ok there was a bowler  I used to bowl with in the 1990's who played at our club his name was Ken Lightoller, one day I asked him if he had any connection to Charles Lightoller the second in command on the Titanic, Kenneth Moore played him in the best of the Titanic films A Night To Remember, he replied "yes he was my Uncle " Shocked
To be honest I fully expected his to say no.

I once asked John Stubbs, the retired SP reporter, whether he was a descendant of George Stubbs, the great painter.

"Yes," he replied. "We've got a couple of his paintings on the living room wall."

Sorry. If you never knew John Stubbs (he used to write the Ringlets column in the Sporting Life), try repeating his reply in a deadpan voice and without a moment's hesitation.

A wonderful character.

I stood on Prince Phillips foot at the Royal Norfolk Show.
My nieces and nephews are friends with Emma Bunton's mother.
I sat on stage with The Fun Lovin Criminals at a gig, my mate was security for the night.
I shook hands with Tom Robinson
I've spoke with Gary Numan's mum on the phone.
I stole a pen from Chris Tarrant
Was nearly run over by Barry Sheene, I was taking a picture of him in the pits at Silverstone, the picture turned out great.

I was at school with Gary Numan, or Webb as he was then.

He was in the 4th form, while I was in the 1st form, so we were neither "Friends" nor Electric.

He didn't own any Cars either.
