Maybe ,Bito , but inventing stuff about an innocent man is very risky IMO . If Bamber was innocent and the police had evidence that he couldn't have done it (which ,if  he didn't do it, they may well have had for all she knew) then she would have been in a world of trouble.

She may not have been a very nice person but i just can't see why she would invent all that . The only way she could be confident that it would result in a conviction and tabloid deals would be if she was convinced he was guilty . And the reason she would be convinced had to be that he basically told her .

Also , from what i recall , when she went to the police she gave them the whole story of her life with Bamber and crimes they had jointly committed , so it could have ended up with them both being prosecuted for those , while Bamber is not charged with the murders . Just can't see what motive she had to lie, and if she's telling the truth it's hard to see how Bamber is innocent.

They only became aware of the burglary because she told them about it when she went to them about Bamber . If her priority was not being prosecuted for that then logically she just does not go to the police at all surely .

Yep , thats what she did . But still nothing gained for her by making it up . Quite likely for the previous month she was looking forward to sharing the inheritance , maybe she even had prior knowledge of the crimes . But it doesn't mean he is innocent .

A telephone log not used at his trial appears to support Bamber's claim that his schizophrenic sister Sheila shot her parents and children before killing herself, his supporters claim. The document suggests that the father phoned police to say his daughter had gone "berserk

Did he do it, most probably, was the trial flawed, looks like it.
Would there be a conviction if this case was being tried now, probably not.
Fact is there is very little chance of another appeal being granted so this is going to crop up at regular intervals for years.

Like many cases from that period and later the Jill Dando murder.

Find a suspect and THEN build the case.

Cardifffc. The silencer was found,by the cousin,in a cupboard
days after the same cupboard was searched by the police.

The silencer was handed to the police and used for some time as a paper weight.

Some time later a tiny speck of blood was found on the silencer but there is no evidence that it belonged to the sister.

Recent experiments suggests the sister was shot without the
use of the silencer.

That happened a lot but can't see that it happened here .They had the suspect as the dead sister and they presented it to the press as case closed and it was only the relatives , the girlfriend and Jeremy Bamber's own behaviour that made them reconsider .

The police telephone log is just a mess from the police .If a policeman actually took a call from Bambers stepdad while the crime was going on , saying Shiela was shooting people , then that would indeed mean that she did it ....... so what are we saying if that happened ; the copper forget about it ?????  It would be 100% proof right there if the victim is reporting it , and the case is solved...so why would they then , after about a month , fit up JB ? What actually happened is that JB called them and told them he'd just received ( a fictitous ) phonecall from the old man .The policeman then wrote this up without making it clear who had actually called .

Bamber is so sly .... just looking at the website he has  the bit about Julie Mugford says she was charged with burglary at a police station and then came up with all the allegations against him, which seems to give her a motive to anyone reading this for the first time . The fact is she went to the station to make the allegations and that was the first the police knew about the burglary (they had robbed another property owned by the old couple )

As for 'why doesn't he just admit his guilt if did do it , so he could be released' As said , highly unlikely anyone shooting children in the head would ever get out . He would just have gotten a parole hearing after 25 years and he would not have been released  .But in any case all along he has been trying to get out on the basis that he didn't do it..... he was expecting to be cleared within a few years so sitting tight for decades was not something he would consider , and now , after all those years campaigning , he would get no credit for owning up anyway .

They reconsidered on nothing more than a hunch and before the girlfriend provided any evidence.

The police then ignored any evidence that pointed in a different direction.

There was TWO phonecalls that morning. The first timed at 3.26 was titled DAUGHTER GONE BESERK. I don't know if the copper forgot about it but the log only became known to JB's legal team in the last few years.

There was another phonecall at 3.36 from JB.

That phonecall could only be 100% proof of anything if the police recognised the voice

In my experiance the people that know what actually happened are the once that know the least about the case

Sly? Didn't realise you knew him.

Mugford benefited in many ways from testifying. Briefly, not being charged with a number of offences (not just burglary) and £25K from a newspaper if JB was found guilty.
Also her story changed on more than one occasion.

doesn't anyone know the details of the lie detector test??
By:

When: 07 Jan 14 22:46
Bamber, 45, who has been asking for the test since 1991, was finally given permission by the Home Office. It is believed to be the first time it has been allowed behind bars.

He was wired up to a £10,000 polygraph machine, said to be the most sophisticated available with 95 to 98 per cent accuracy. It measures reactions that can indicate guilt, including heartbeat, blood pressure, sweat and even electromagnetic impulses.

During the 100 minute test Mr Mullins, one of only seven polygraph experts in the UK, asked three key questions: DID you shoot your family on August 7, 1985? DID you shoot five members of your family with an Anshutz rifle? WERE you in the house when they were shot with an Anshutz rifle? Bamber gave a categoric "No" to each one.

Mr Mullins said: "You only have to fail one question and you fail the whole test. But he passed every time.

"We are testing the nervous system, the fight or flight mechanism, and you cannot hide those reactions. But there was no suggestion he was lying in any answers."

He added: "I am absolutely clear that he did not do this. I am convinced he is innocent from his readings on these tests."

He used to do outrageous things that used to upset Mr Bamber.  He was a Jekyll and Hyde character.'
"Bamber, now 52, would wear a full face of make-up for trips to local shops
Farm secretary Barbara Wilson says he enjoyed tormenting his parents"

Mrs Wilson said the the atmosphere at the Bambers' White House Farm in Tolleshunt d'Arcy changed dramatically a few months before the killings.

It was alleged that Bamber had stumbled across his parents' wills and was outraged to discover he was to share their wealth equally with his adopted sister, Sheila.

Next time there is a crime near me I shall go looking for the local transvestite.

I think the reason the mood changed and also why Bamber's girlfriend had spite was that he was bisexual and coming to terms with his feelings. Remember we are going back to the 80s when by many being bisexual was seen as being wrong, I suspect his family would not approve.

if the court of chit chat be in session may i bring forward the case of michael stone, imprisoned for the murder of lin and meg russell, for consideration. his character was brilliantly assasinated by the police and press and not many care that he will die in prison, but as to evidence of him committing these heinous crimes there be not any save from an alleged confession to another lag when he was on remand.

the jail cell confession should always set the alarm bells ringing. crops up time and time again in weak circumstantial cases with little evidence against the accused. michael stone is obviously a deeply unpleasant individual but i'd have serious doubts about whether he did it

as for bamber no idea about his guilt or otherwise but he's serving a whole life tarriff when even the jury aren't all that sure he did it (it was 10-2 majority). i think he's the only whole lifer in the country who protests his innocence

ccda not doing a very good job here ,half remember seeing the programe many moons ago,but do rem the silencer bit
Was it not the case the point about the silencer was a very saliant one insomuchas the sister could not have shot herself with it on rifle due to the extra length ? They built the case from there i think.
Thought a whole life term was now illegal ?
