his mentally ill Sister did it
By:
Really?.........not making any personal judgement - but could you elaborate?
By:
she was quite hot if memory serves
By:
he is as guilty as hell

saw a documantary about it,gave the for and againt case for Bamber...i found the against case very convincing. There was barely a shred of forensic evidence against Bamber and his father had called the police on the night of the murder saying his daughter had gone berserk.
By:
the guilty verdict seemed to rest entirely on a confession Bamber made to his then gf that he wanted to get hold of their his parents money.
By:
His father never called the police; Jeremy Bamber called them to say his father had said Sheila had gone mad with a gun and this was wrongly logged at the police station making it seem the father had made the call.
The girlfriend's evidence was very convincing as she had no reason to lie , and good reasons not to lie . |
By:
I have no idea if Bamber is guilty or not. I'd normally be inclined to take Tobes' word for it, but he was defending Clarkson the other night!

the movement of the phones in the house is interesting
By:
so how was the silencer found in a wardrobe days afterwards if his sister did it?
By:
blimey I know University Challenge was crap but a bit harsh sending him to prison for it
By:
It was not his father....he was adopted....I saw documentary....thought he was not guilty after it.
By:
never trust the essex cops, they done him up like a kipper in a sardine can

According to the "bloke in my local pub" who knows these things, it was a drug running thing.
He got caught up with some London heavies who would import drugs through the Essex Coast. When the family found out they were "taken care of" and Jeremy had to take the can or be shot. Although i must admit it sounds like a load of ****** to me. |
By:
think the silencer made him guilty.......the silencer was found in a cupboard with his sisters blood over it.......she couldn't kill her self then go and put the silencer back in the cupboard...guilty as hell
By:
tollesbury marina was where they brought it in MMM
oops |
By:
she shot herself but was still alive for a time afterwards....there was movement upstairs as recorded by police on the scene
By:
Pandora.......if I am up in court hope youre not on the jury
By:
tollesbury marina was where they brought it in MMM
oops Um. I've heard that too, but not in relation to Bamber ![]() ![]() |
By:
theres been no clamour from anyone for a retrial........only bamber himself......this is one of the safest convictions.........he will die in prison...NAP
By:
"one of the safest convictions"

By:
a bit........he said the sister did it.......but who put the silencer with her blood in the cupboard
By:
I thought he was guilty, but the more I read the evidence ,it seems likely he was stitched up by his cousins and the police
By:
he was convicted on the word of an ex girlfriend.no forensic evidence would stand up in a court today
the essex police investigation was a total farce |
By:
are you saying the police planted the silencer.......I wouldn't put it passed them
By:
his cousins who stood to benefit from the inheritance found the silencer
By:
essex police are notoriously useless, the 3 blokes murdered in the essex boys case
no forensic evidence,2 blokes convicted on the evidence of a grass with a criminal record in both cases the convicted can't be considered for parole because they still maintain their innocence and they've done plenty of time |
By:
The incompetent police investigation almost got him off . They had it down as an open and shut case of Sheila doing it .
Why would the girlfriend go to them and tell them the things he'd been saying if he'd never said any of it ? For all she knew the cops had cast iron evidence that J Bamber was innocent . |
By:
his sister was supposedly lying dead in the kitchen when police entered the farmhouse
but later photographed lying dead upstairs in the bedroom |
By:
the sister was a bit loopy but the girlfriend was a chief witness....I thought he was guilty but you've made think now......if youre right why is there no clamour from newspapers or miscarriage of justice campaigners

Julie Mugford had been approached by various newspapers with offers of money for her story. She instructed a solicitor months before the trial to negotiate a deal with the highest bidder which was the News of The World. She was already in a hotel with (DS Jones and another police officer) paid for by The News of The World as the verdict was given, where she posed for photographs provocatively dressed and smiling for the camera then accepting a cool sum of £25,000 for her story which even by today’s standards is a lot of money, in 1985 this would have been a princely sum. She states that she spent the money on an apartment. If Julie Mugford had signed the contract before giving her evidence she would have been in contempt of court. The fact that she arranged this contract pre-trial did not break the letter of the law. It shows that Mugford had pre-meditated to obtain money, and all but signed a contract for her story upon a guilty verdict this in an unsuitable action by a key prosecution witness.(10

There has been a clamour to some extent ; the guardian or the times gave him an interview setting out his case
By:
high chance this bloke is innocent in my opinion
By:
obv i assumed guilt when he was tried, but with all the stuff thats come out since, well, a retrial is the only fair solution
By:
papers do bring it up,the mail did a little while ago. i think he's had 2 appeals turned down
perhaps the girlfriend wasn't the font of all honesty tobes.i'd hate to sentence somebody to life on the words of evidence of "he told me" |
By:
She took what was on offer no doubt and did very well for herself , but it's to see how she planned ahead so that she decided to frame him with newspaper deals a year later in mind .

hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, police dropped the burglary charge against her too

By:
why doesn't he offer to do a lie detector test
By:
she also named a hitman, but he had a cast iron alibi
