I've had a bugbear about 90's music (particularly British music inc Britpop and what came directly before and after) was massively, massively overrated.
So then, not exactly helped by 3 tracks being 'dropped' by The Stone Roses, The Manics and Richard Ashcroft which are quite possibly 3 of the worst things I've ever heard in my life. Absolute garbage. |
By:
The Undertones 40th anniversary tour , June, rerely tour so not to be missed
By:
Turin Brakes, Hebden Bridge were brilliant last sat night !
By:
Ashcroft was a great example why tours are announced before the album comes out. 35 quid for The Verve songs really.

Saw them at Leeds Town Hall - around the same time I saw Pink Floyd & Deep Purple there too. Ah, memories of a sea creature pishing on Pink Floyd with what looked like a washing up liquid bottle as a dick (we knew how to live in those days
) |
By:
Lee where is Steve Forbert playing? I was listening to Alive On Arrival and Mission Of The Crossroad Palms yesterday, he's written some great tunes and I'd like to see him live.
By:
Dan, he's playing in Leeds on 21st Oct or at least I thought he was and have bought a ticket on the strength of it
. I've just looked on his website but there's no mention of it . No worries he'll be there I'm surehttp://www.steveforbert.com/tour.html |
By:
Yes you're right, it's listed on the Seven Arts website but not his own. Only £13 - bloody bargain!
I'm going to Whitby to see Los Pacominos (Paul Young's Tex Mex band) tomorrow, but just had a call to say it's been cancelled ![]() Have to drink beer and eat chips instead. |

By:

I saw Dag Nasty the other night. I wasn't really a fan and only went at a friend's insistence but I thought they were excellent.

Looking forward the brilliant Beautiful Days festival in Devon next week, long drive from the west coast of Scotland (via York races) though.
Specifically wanting to see Show of Hands, Martin Carthy, the Levellers and the Proclaimers, but James headlining on the Saturday will be a laugh after 27 lagers. |
