Yes Ronnie Rosenthal's miss at Villa is all anyone recalls of him . Roberto Baggio i think would still be remembered without the penalty though!

English cricket fans will surely remember Andy Lloyd. He played one Test, against the West Indies circa 1984. He opened the batting, lasted perhaps 20 minutes, when he was hit on the head by the legendary Malcolm Marshall. He was carried off (even though I think he was wearing a helmet).
Lloyd did not return and never played for England again. For those taking part in future quizzes, I think he has the 'honour' of being the only Test Match opening batsman never to have been dismissed. |

Cheers Fenners, although it's most unlikely I'll never remember his name.

04 Aug 13 18:31 Geoff Thomas I was at Selhurst Park, Palace against Fulham. George Best broke Geoff Thomas's leg right in front of me, he never came back from that injury. He was a great defender in his day. Rodney Marsh was playing for Fulham that day as well. |

Can't see why Henry Cooper would qualify . A 'failure' i'd say is when they lose because they messed up a simple opportunity . Hardly simple to beat Ali, Cooper must have been a hopeless underdog.
He is best remembered anyway for knocking Ali down, which was a successful moment . Harsh to say he 'failed' to finish him off . In any case he would still have remained quite well known without that fight. Doug Sanders yes. |
