She was struggling with the volume of a ( his) cylinder ....... and he thought a trip to France would also improve her French.

She is only 15 but it seems she went with him on her own accord. If, when they get back/police catch up with them, they both deny anything physical happened, what is the max he could be charged? I know he will get sacked,  but was wondering with regards the criminal side of things.

as an adult he took a child across national borders without parental consent. I would imagine that is a criminal offence

True, MF. Would he get a prison term for that?
I was just thinking how he would worm his way out of getting sent down.

If he was a biology teacher then it might be called a field trip of sorts. Allegedly.

I can understand why this story would make the front page of the Eastbourne Herald but why is it national headline news? She hasn't been hurt or kidnapped. She hasn't gone missing. The media attention is way over the top.

Indeed it's not if it is the biggest age gap in a relationship going on is it.

If a 30 yr old maths teacher takes a 15 yr old pupil 120 miles to France at an average speed of 40 mph,how many years will he get in prison?

French say no crime has been committed and that it is nothing more than missing persons case.

Presumably the police there are still working on the Annecy murders.

The French wont arrest him.

Its been broadcast as a love story so they could be safe. He could get work teaching maths or playing guitar. She needs to work out how to pass her exams. Good luck to them.

It's at times like this when we all need to take a step back, and look at this delicate situation with a cool and calm head, always remembering the protocols of sexual conduct as laid down by the British media.

I think the sacred rules of sexual coupling go something like this :

(a) 30 year old bloke goes to bed with girl aged 15 years 363 days = CUT OFF HIS YARBLES

(b) 30 year old bloke goes to bed with girl aged exactly 16 years = PHWOAAAAR YOU LUCKY S0D

(c) 15 year old boy goes to bed with 15 year old girl = ERM, THAT MUST BE OK, BECAUSE WE DID THAT AT THEIR AGE

(d) 16 year old girl goes to bed with 16 year old girl = PHWOAAARRR, CAN WE WATCH? HAVE YOU GOT ANY PHOTOS?

Did I miss any important British media sex 'guidance' rules ?

Her Dad worked with the Teacher and said he seemed like a "nice bloke".

Perhaps the Dad should be happy his teenage daughter has run off with him then and not hnging around with the local juvenile deliquents.
