In my defense i'm very far of these problems now. At my age i'm more preoccupied to find women that are aged less than 40 than more than 16 or 18

Touch of genius getting the mum to do the appeal, ostensibly to her but really showing him what she'll look like in 20 years. Then again, the stepdad apparently stammers so it was always gonna be the plan.

Why not just wait until she's 16? at least then he doesn't get done for being a nonce. Would probably just lose his job.  My old physics teacher ended up marrying one of his students, think they were seeing each other when she was 16. never heard anything said about it really.

i dont think the parents reaction is helping much to be honest. A simple statement saying they accept she can make her own decisions but this isnt the way to go about it would be much better than tearful appeals to the nation about being worried for her safety. Turning the guy she likes into public enemy number one is hardly helping things.

Has put himself into an untenable position, which can only become worse if she gets anything other than A* when she sits her GCSE maths exam.

Her mum claimed she had not been aware of any relationship between the pair, explaining: ‘There were a couple of subjects that she was struggling with and she was going to after-school extra tuition.

1000's of children run away from home but are not given this media coverage. If anything she is far safer than the majority of the kids that end up in prostitution, sleeping rough or on drugs.
