Scottish 3rd division match between Rangers and East Stirling,Rangers are available with Corals at 1/12.
I know Rangers drew last week with Peterhead, but East Stirling are a different kettle of fish, they are usually the whipping boys of this division,i fully  expect the score line to be 7-0 plus.
The only thing what is on my mind is how i am going to tell my wife that it is a sure fire bet.

Certainly wouldn't be putting up a serious argument against Rangers winning this match.  However,

Obviously Rangers don't have the class of player you'd usually expect (although miles in excess of 'shire)

Shire have actually produced a couple of decent results this season (3-1 over 2nd Div Ayr and 3-0 over 1st Div Airdrie) although sandwiched in between 5-1 and 2-0 home defeats.

Backing Rangers this season would have already led to 2 heavy canings.

PS - I expect Gers to horse them.

Why 12k specifically?

Huggy, as you know, there's no such thing as a certainty.
They obviously should win, but I'd rather put £50 or £100 on to win £1000 than £12,000 to win £1000.
Even though it's not likely I'd be successful.

Remember a guy on Teletext saying he'd be 4 grand richer after Man Us first game of the season at home to Reading a few years ago, must have been about 2/7.

If you have 12k do you really need to risk it for another 1k ?

Buying money isnt it. Even if Rangers have a man sent off they would still have 25 shots on goal.

Don't do it Huggy .. you might regret it .. maybe a smaller bet ... but they'll all be gunning for Rangers especially 1st match of the season .. all it takes is an early away goal ... is it in running Confused

12k is a huge chunk to lose !

Why 'only' 12/1 though  Confused

Celtic 20s for the league better imo.

the loss of £12k would be as nothing compared with the feelings of sickness and self-loathing you would go through if it went t1ts up Sad

My m8 was going to risk £900 to win £200 last week and asked my advice,I told him to do it as there was no way Rangers would not win !

Thankfully he bottled it,true story. Blush

they say you should only gamble what you can afford to lose. if you can afford to lose the 12k then I would go for it.

Crazy bet.  It will be like a cup final match.  This would only make sense to someone with an emotional attachment to Rangers, pro or anti.
Put 6k on Manchester United (2.2/1), and 6k on Manchester City (1.4/1) for the Premier League instead.  Do you really have 12k?  If you have it to spare you can leave it in for a season.  And you can trade in and out.

Lower league Scottish football is even more corrupt than Serie A, its part of how they survive people don't pay that much attention but you get some big priced winners over the season. It would be too obvious doing it in this game mind.

Too early in the season.

Remember all those season when Carlisle, Reading, Sheff Wed, West Ham, Norwich, Bolton and many others
led the 'Premier Lge' after 2 or 3 games

Thanks for all the replies.

After careful thought and
consideration (and talking to my wife) i have decided not to strike the bet.

( I have noticed today William Hill have pushed them out from 1/16 to 1/12,trimming the draw from 8/1 in to 7/1 They know something ?)
