Room for a pillion?

Well its been fun bara, sorry to see you go, but I whole heartedly agree with the observations in your post, so long and all the best.
|
|
By:
I noticed the thread had gone last night, bara. They're clueless.
|
|
By:
This is absolutely outrageous. I join Paddy in agreeing with your observations. The unique spirit Chit Chat has enjoyed over the years is rapidly being castrated with every ludicrous decision the community managers make.
Good luck to you baracouda. |

Personally, I think that the death list thing is a little distasteful, and wouldn't have participated, but don't think that that's any reason to remove it.
Given the mindless drivel wrecking the forum that is posted ad infinitum by a small minority of users, the 'death list' is the chit chat equivalent of Dostoevsky. |

Buona fortuna and warmest festive wishes!

bye barra and good luck
yes becoming increasingly difficult to do anything against a punter on here (seems all bets are matched then one automatically appears in front so you cant trade straight away on most occasions and you often submit a bet to back and the price moves lower by 2 clicks before yours appears?? on the other issue of death list although to me its fun/a bit of a laugh others would find it distasteful as i found out when running a suicide sweep on our local railway, some think its great fun others thought it in bad taste(if you have to deal with these things people react in different ways) |
|
By:
Goodbye and thanks for the entertainment over the years. Agree with all you said, just look at the forum today, there's nothing, absolutely nothing worth reading. Betfair have fecked things up so badly, and with such a relentless inability to recognise it, you almost suspect Tony Blair is now in charge.

![]() I agree with Mr Nibbs, well said. |
|
By:
I agree with everybody else. Can only assume one individual (you know who you are) has reported the thread and the Betfair staff have to act on this according to the rules set by management.
Good luck bara |
|
By:
Bara.....I thought that thread must have taken a few hours....you're just upset due to perceived loss of effort...BF may have been worried it would get out to a tabloid...
Put it down to experience...stay on the forum...we need your creativity... |
|
By:
I doubt that individual would be so petty and sad to actually report the thread. ^ At least I hope he wouldn't.
![]() Sorry to see you go Bara. I'd echo what Nibbs & the others have said above. It was threads/competitions like yours which were the lifeblood of Chit Chat a few short years ago. Happy Christmas pal. |
|
By:
How come they weren't worried about the 2011 list then Leopard?
|
|
By:
Besides, anybody on the list was almost guaranteed immunity from death for 12 months!
|
|
By:
More cautious mods...?

Shame
We need the good guys to stay and drown out the few - well, one in particaular - who's a bigger attention-seeker than Lady Gaga. Please reconsider but understand your rationale. |

Good-bye and good-luck bara.
ps. Remember to pack some sandwiches for your trip. |
|
By:
Just logged back in (to see if I could, after the email I sent them earlier!) ... thanks for your comments, guys.
I will miss the forum, no doubt, but sometimes you just know what the right thing to do is. Thanks & good luck. I will be back in March to gloat after Starluck wins the Champion Hurdle! |

good luck bara...one of the good guys

one less ailurophobe, but at the same time one less non-racist. not sure if that's a net gain
![]() |
|
By:
Ailurophobia is a type of specific phobia: the persistent, irrational fear of cats.
Had to look it up... |
|
By:
it's not quite the right word, but strangely afaik there isn't a word for hatred of cats
|
|
By:
I imagine Mr Winkle imagines himself as a mouse being accused of Ailurophobia.
|
|
By:
That's because any hatred of cats isn't irrational.
|

Bara, this is deeply depressing news.
The Death List thread must have taken you absolutely ages, and is clearly not the most offensive thing on here. The reason I decided not to enter is the same reason that I don't bet against Liverpool or England: I don't like to feel conflicted like that. I'm not astonished that they removed it, but think it was the wrong call. A few days ago someone posted a 2011 Chit Chat Awards thread. I was going to vote for you as most respected forumite before I decided to abandon the whole thing due to feeling weird about sucking up to and slagging off various people. I really hope that you change your mind and just have a Christmas holiday from the forum. Seriously, the place does need you. Even RoP doesn't want you to go ffs! So I hope to see you again in the New Year, but as you're really stubborn and might really not come back, I wish you all the best with your family and the rest of your life. Patra the Cat. |

I'd like to retract my 12:16.
|
|
By:
This thread seems to have served as a magnet for the last few decent people on the forum. I shall see you in the pub at eleven. I shall be drunk.
|
|
By:
just start a protest thread or a posting strike. im sure the masses of morally attuned posters will join in and make betfair sit up and take notice.

What odds can I get on Gary Glitter and Maddie McCann?

Best wishes Bara - maybe take the break as an opportunity to join the RIGHT party?

Everything's Gone Green
21 Dec 11 11:26 I agree with everybody else. Can only assume one individual (you know who you are) has reported the thread and the Betfair staff have to act on this according to the rules set by management. Good luck bara If I'd have wanted the thread removing don't you think I would have asked Betfair to do so when I first started complaning about it maybe a year ago? I can easily get an e.mail from Betfair stating that it wasn't me who was instrumental in it's removal if you like. I would of course like you to contribute to a charity of my choice when you're proved wrong. Are you on? |
|
By:
yes, get the email
|
|
By:
Yeah, and the one that proves you're a woman.

will you contribute to my charity? I'll contribute £1000 to yours. Make it worth my while. |

so that's a £1000 straight bet.

The rehabilitation of cat rapists?
