The Death List thread must have taken you absolutely ages, and is clearly not the most offensive thing on here. The reason I decided not to enter is the same reason that I don't bet against Liverpool or England: I don't like to feel conflicted like that. I'm not astonished that they removed it, but think it was the wrong call.

A few days ago someone posted a 2011 Chit Chat Awards thread. I was going to vote for you as most respected forumite before I decided to abandon the whole thing due to feeling weird about sucking up to and slagging off various people.

I really hope that you change your mind and just have a Christmas holiday from the forum. Seriously, the place does need you. Even RoP doesn't want you to go ffs!

So I hope to see you again in the New Year, but as you're really stubborn and might really not come back, I wish you all the best with your family and the rest of your life.

If I'd have wanted the thread removing don't you think I would have asked Betfair to do so when I first started complaning about it maybe a year ago?

I can easily get an e.mail from Betfair stating that it wasn't me who was instrumental in it's removal if you like.

I was once banned for telling the truth about charlie nicholas when he dared to question blackpool's tactics.(we had the audacity to be entertaining). It took me ages to come back on but it doesnt seem the same.

I was banned years ago for posting a famous face of racing's phone number on the racing forum - someone like Lydia Hislop.

I tried to explain that the phone number in question was from the persons own website found in large print on the first page, actively advertising it, wanting contacts and bookings etc but they were too embarrassed to apologies and reinstate me.

This forum is a shadow of its former self, with all the attempts to make a "community" out of what already was one, failing so miserably.

The moderators are anonymous and they don't use any thought when issuing bans/removing threads.

A shame because many people wont stay logged on to BF as they once did (I can't be the only one). Which ultimately must cost them revenue.
The death list thread was a bit of harmless fun and there are loads of worse threads which have no place on a public forum and loads of idiots who have no right to post the rubbish they do. But, they're what's left now so much of the "community" has departed.

For the past year and a half BF have ignored the fact that they've ballsed the forum up.

I won't be running any more competitions here, or give any more of my time to BF, as their dedication to turning this place into some kind of facebook clone has ruined nearly all the enjoyment which we used to have here.

With respect to the paddy power betting on the next pope i think they are not just betting on who the next Pontiff will be but also offering a bet in which its in the interest of the punter that the pope dies sooner than later.

Would anyone take even money on the next Pope if they had certain knowledge who it would be. If the present Pope lives as long as probable you would lose money on that bet. Paddy Power would have your money for many many years. When you collected your winnings you would not get interest. Instead your winnings would be diluted by inflation. Even if you won you would lose.

So, yes, they are offering a bet in which the punter needs the Pope to pass away soon.
