We need a proper statistical analysis instead of all this anecdotal evidence.

Mugged -  Burgled last 10 years - - attempted - failed. (Was burgled in 1970 and 1985 though) Menaced - Offered drugs - Never. |

Never been mugged, I got burgled when I lived in Beckenham near the train station. Never been menaced by a hoodie or the like personally.

Mugged - It's still zero. Burgled - Not in the last ten years. Menaced by a hoodie - Never. Offered drugs - Outside Brixton tube station about three weeks ago, I declined. |

Mugged: 0 Burgled: 0 Menaced by a hoodie: 0 Offered drugs: Outside pub, pre The Specials gig @ Brixton Academy. The police station is around the corner. Approached by prostitutes = London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Glasgow, Coventry, overseas, and once during a darts away match, against a village team  Approached by homosexuals: Twice. First time during a darts away match in town (there's a theme developing). Second time whilst waiting for the bus in Piccadilly after a Rod Stewart concert @ Royal Albert Hall - shudder. There's a 20 year gap between the two. |
