Not just those you don't like, those whose appeal to anyone you simply can't understand - (For example you may loathe Celine Dion and Westlife, or Jay Z and Puff Daddy but you realise sad middle aged housewives and none too bright, impressionable young males don't share your opinion)

More so called credible artists, and not just the usual suspects such as The Smiths and Dylan who seem to divide opinion.

Elbow are a good call, i find them really dull. I don't like Muse either, sound like a Queen tribute act, i thought that music had had it's day in the 80s.

These days anything on the front of the NME.

Will go the same way as Smash Hits soon.

Janis Joplin.

I'm sure everyone only said they liked her because everyone else was saying it. Peer pressure.
It definitely wasn't cool not to like Janis Joplin.
But I didn't.
I just didn't get what all the fuss was about.

think its an age thing, when i was younger liked all the indie stuff etc, now as ive got older got grumpy and cynical and see these new bands etc , and unless they are quite original , have seen it all before. as jokers say, anything on front of nme etc. also wonder how much record compannies hype bands, remember towers of london for example, currently residing on the 'where are you now file ' .

The Pet Shop Boys.

Can't believe they've enjoyed such a long career. Bloody awful camp, whining vocals in the main. A couple of ok moments on Please, their debut album, but mostly 20 odd years of painful listening.

Anything written by Stock Aitken and Waterman.
It was basically a drum machine, with various soap stars or wannabees singing dire lyrics.
Always amazed me they had a dozen or so No 1s.

thing is with that mmm, it appeals to the kiddies and simpletons, its pop music at its most basic,  and melodies are very immediate. popular doesnt mean good.

not sure any of the answers qualify so far. HAte them or really hate them every artists mentioned has an easily identifiable target demographic that explains their record sales. Quite unbaffling imo?

I do not like, and can not see what listening pleasure anyone can derive from listening to Neil Tennant 'sing'. Clear enough? Happy

The Streets, how they ever got away with it remains one of the great musical mysteries of modern times.
Status Quo, I just don't get them at all.

In the 70s, if you were a hippie/anarchist, it was obligatory to like the Pink Fairies. John Peel played them most nights, so they had to be cool, right? Complete ****, they were.

Don't agree with Leonard Cohen. His first two albums were classics, but the rest are ****.
