There has been a request for a quiz this coming Friday from Graham V Green.

One year ago today, 22nd September 2015, MrNibbs made his last post on a thread he started in 2010. Over those 5 years, he not only created the room, but also provided quite a few forumites with many entertaining quizzes. Even better, we enjoyed lots of discussion and banter.
He is a fellow Nottinghamian, and I hope that he is well. |

Seems like more than a year too. As you say, it wasn't just about the quizzes. We weren't all of the same mind politically but, unlike this forum, any differences were cast aside. Had many a good night in Nibbsy's chat room. Like you, more than anything else I hope he is well. I hope every bet he has on non-league football, chess or the Brewers to be winning after five innings cops. Finally, I hope he and Miriam Gössner are very happy together. To Mr Nibbs, the man who tried his best to save this forum after Betfair screwed it up. A legend. |

Big thank you again to Studyform for reviving the quizzes.
And for Study, as I got distracted at the time, the quick way to get the golf/Pythagoras solution just uses estimations: 200^2 = 40k; 210^2 =~44k; sum of the squares = ~84k; 300^2 = 90k; answer likely to be round number; therefore 290 a strong candidate. |
