Today was a great chance for him. Wont be many slams he plays where he avoids both Rafa and Novak. He will be devastated.

Well done to Andy for being the first British finalist in seventy four years.

The curse of Bunny Austin has been lifted.

And as the man himself said, he's 'getting closer'

Closer to what?....by my reckoning he's closer to NIL than one!LaughLaughLaughLaugh

I backed him at 3.25 and layed off at 2.12 and 2.04

I'm happy

Why, because he beat Tsonga?  When he comes up against the big three, he gets beat.  Nothings changed.

I'm still gutted Andy didn't win but he couldn't have lost to a nicer guy

In fairness he lost to the first person he played who knew which end of the raquet to hold!

Once upon a time, there was a wicked witch who lived in a dark forest
and she kidnapped and ate the sports fans from many different countries.

She would keep them in cellars locked behind oak doors.
One cellar for French fans, one for German fans, one for Spanish fans and so on.

One day her daughter noticed that there was no lock on the cellar that held the British sports fans.
The witch explained there was no need as they were so busy dragging each other down, a lock would be a waste of money

Was it all started by someone saying "anyone but England", perchance?

TMP , this thread is not about how much money Murray has, or how many played finals on Sunday

It is about how many Grand Slams Murray has won.

I've never liked Andy Murray; those comments in 2006 always rankled with me and his on court demeanour frequently leaves a lot to be desired.

Credit where it's due though, he is the first Briton in an awful long time to make the Wimbledon final and he impressed me by getting through a very gracious speech despite his obvious embarrassment at crying.  Many would have mumbled a few words and made a sharpish exit I suspect.

Any way, on subject -
