Anywon got the latest OFFICIAN 'Federer total slams at the same age as Andy Murray' count please?

Just a matter of days away from his NINTH (2006 US Open) I believe. So officially the score at current ages would be a resounding 8 to l'ouef.

He has been unlucky to try and win slams when Federer ruled the world, and in Fed's twilight years, Nadal and Djokovic are taking his place. Murray is a good player, no doubt about it, but he hasn't got the grit of Djokovic, who saved 4 match points against Tsonga the other day, or the tennis brain of the other two. Some of his positioning yesterday against Ferrer was bad, but he's the one who's losing points because of it, so he must know what he's doing wrong.

I don't agree with that.  There are always world class players around.  Henman had Sampras for the first half of his career followed by a young and better Federer in the second half.  The competition is always tough - it is no tougher now than normal.

Virginia Love

"I have tremendous sympathy that his back is bad, but I've more sympathy for the other guy as, honestly, you cannot play against someone who is being such a drama queen. I don't think it is intentional, actually, but he feels so sorry for himself, he has no control over the fact he is not really acting in an adult way," 1977 women's Wimbledon champion Virginia Wade is slightly scathing of Andy Murray after her fellow Brit required treatment for a back injury during his 1-6 6-4 6-1 6-2 win over Jarkko Nieminen at the French Open.
