0, isn't that the answer to the question......how many English male tennis players have achieved a place in a grand slam final in 70 years. That's strange you knew that sibaroni.

I keep trying to work out the 'number of Andy Murrays per number of Grand Slams' ratio but my spreadsheet keeps coming up with "#DIV/0!".

Can anyone help?

Happy to help.

Replace the fomulation in the cell that is causing you the problem with the digit 0.

Hopefully this should rectify the problem.

If this isn't working then stop using Excel and use Word. After opening word type 0. Format the 0 in Bold, Underlined and a font size of approx 72.
Now sit back and look at said document and the answer should appear.

Larry Sellers.its probablygrief and embarrassment about you countries appauling record in grand slams (England) which has distressed you so  much its obviously affected you mental processes an ability to anylitically work things out;fight these feelings Larry dont give in to jealousy and bitterness, keep your chin up who knows maybe in another 70 years you'll have a player good enough to make a grand slam final.

P.S Dont count on it Larry.

Oooh look at that young lad on the telly.... ooh he's half my age and a multi millionaire and Britain's best ever tennis player... ooh I don't feel too good about that. Look at us, twice his age sitting round in dressing gowns with no prospects and wetting ourselves every time the postman comes in case it's a friggin bill.. ooh if we have a pop at the young guy on a relentless pointless feckless thread then it might improve our situations. NO IT WON'T

Journeyman - Britain's best ever tennis player was Fred Perry, on account of him winning lots of Grand Slams.

Murray has won:

I strongly believe the amateur days of Fred Perry when Tennis was played by a few public
school boys would be unrecognisable to the super fit individuals who play the full time profesional version today.

Yes, fitness levels and equipment have improved and continue to improve.  But to say the modern chaps woulld beat the older chaps is a seriously flawed analysis.  It would make us take the view that the current top twenty are better than McEnroe, which would be absurd.

No, you have to look at the individuals achievements against the best in their era.

Fred Perry Grand Slams - 8
Andrew Murray - 0

Canadians?  Would that be the guy who took enough pride in his British citizenship that he could be *rsed to represent his nation in the Davis Cup?  Makes him more British than Murray, for me.

1)In the tennis world rankings can anybody tell me how many Englishmen occupy a place in top ten.

2)If that's to dificult could anybody give me an approximation of how many Englismen occupy a place in the top 100 it must be dozens surely.

I'll give you a little clue, none and none.

I don't think you do your nation any favours in keeping this thread going it just highlights

the total ineptitude of your own athletes performances.

A little late in the day and nowhere near as good a rant as yesterdays effort. Sad

Must try harder.
