US open he'll have his chance ;) |
|
By:
I'll give it a shot though.
Clearly there's a bit further he has to travel to get to number one and win a sequence of slams. The third set was frustrating but in truth Federer had much more in the tank if required. It might be as long as another year before Murray gets there, so you guys win for now. hawksbee and Jacobs said on Talk Sport this week they'd rather no British player won it than Murray. I guess a lot of people still feel that way. They'll certainly get their way if he doesn't win one beacuse I doubt any other Brit will even get to a GS final for 20 or 30 years. But for now.. 0 :( |

all you haters just wait until Federer and Nadal retire.

Nadal? Can't beat Murray in slams any more.
Hewitt? Wouldn't take a set off murray, let alone a match! It's all about one man. federer. The guy is incredible. I admit underestimating him. He really is unparalleled. Murray doesn't want to win after Fed retires, he wants to beat him when he's on top. We'll see I guess.Right I'm off to get trashed. Take care Brodie and the guys. Nil... but not forever :) |

Chaps, I need a favour. I went out on the lash last night and coulnd't get out of bed until midday. I was celebrating the first Englishman to win a tennis tourny, having read canaryboy's threads telling me it was in the bag.
Any updates? Is it one now? |

interesting stat about murray - he has just joined an illustrious group of players with career 0-2 records in grand slam finals in the open era (1968-)
John Marks Steve Denton Kevin Curren Miloslav Mecir Todd Martin Alex Corretja Cedric Pioline Mark Phillippousis Andy Murray No-one in the open era has ever played more than 2 grand slam finals, and not won at least one of them... |
