I have to say that I am delighted for the town of Dunblane. It is pleasing that it should be remembered for something other than that shooting.

One, well done andy Murray. How many grand slams this time next year? Must be odds on more than one. No spoty this year but maybe next year after he wins Wimbledon.

The contributors on this thread used to protest that it wasn't just a vehicle for ridicule but a scientific way of keeping acount of Andy's career. Strange how it has seemingly died a death since he won the US Open with no posts atoll between 21st and 27th September, very curious.

blah, blah, blah...no posts atoll between 21st and 27th September, very curious. only curious to the cerebrally challenged imo. there have been many instances of nothingthness throughout this thread. in fact, for most of this thread, it was pure nothingness. |

I can see by your picture your pretty perplexed by Andy's success.
Mr Fishwick, surely one of the stalwarts of this petty little thread, all I can say to you is........ha ha. I bet your gutted |

i let the calling me xenphobic [sic] (11 Sep 12 02:25) slip by, but i think your two latest posts reflect the sort of person you might be...and one seething in a festering pit of rage for many a year i'd wager. gutted by a sporting achievement? wtf?
- that'd be a no, death guts me if you must know.you seem angered and need to lighten up young lad/lass. wallow graciously in the knowledge the count can never go back to NIL. ps. the picture is not of me - i think it has perplexed you |

Impossible to win any more Slams between US Open and Oz Open next year - hth
Think the haters need to quit now - you make yourselves look bitter & incredibly narrow-minded. Greatest British tennis player for 76 years. Predict he wins at least another 2 Slams next year. |

Of all the great successes in British sport since 2000that were not predicted to happen after the dearth of success in the nineties, this was the most unjustifiably mocked in the build up. In fact looking back it seems quite obvious he would win one eventually...He had consistently improved year after year after year.
More obvious than ashes 2005, our 68 olympic gold medals(6 in the nineties), even our rugby world cup win in 2003. Spread must be on about 4 grand slams when he finishes his career what with Federer ageing, Nadals injuries and a lack of contendors coming through..djoko looks like the main, not insignificant, challenge over the next five years. |
