I agree with no moves, this thread wasn't about Andy, this thread was a racist thread from the start, it just shows how the English fear Scots. they must be demented this morning. cheers.

And well done to him for knowing where his WATCH was
Tut tut, he didn't.. |
|
By:
Guiness, murray looked for the watch and couldn't find it. He knows his obligations and asked his bird where it was. She told him. I don't get your problem with him fulfilling his obligations.
Maybe after five hours, two black toenails, four failed finals, two sets recovered he was just tired. Running to your box or collapsing on the floor a-la-nadal/fed are recent phenomenons and I personally don't like it. imo you're just one of those that finds fault in everything. He didn't look happy enough for whom? I thought the tears in his eveys showed a lot. I thought the lack of speech opportunity was bullsh!t and the interview was too short and absolutely dreadfully conducted. Neither of which are muzza's fault. |
|
By:
Well in that case we have something in common. I found mine in the fridge once!
|
|
By:
evski: You don't like winners running to their box, and or collapsing in shear joy when winning, and it's me who finds fault in everything
![]() Btw, he first asked for his watch when sat in his chair, he then hobbled to his box and asked again. Do you understand that ? No joy, no elation, no smiles for his g/f, mummy, his 'team' His sponsored WATCH was his first thought. It says an awful lot about "muzza" as a person, than anything i write on here... |

been waiting 40+ years for a British man to win a GS singles title and for over 30 of those I never thought it would happen
then Murray won the junior USO and quickly followed up by taking Fat Dave to 5 sets at Wimbledon... and at that stage it was obvious that the boy had the ability Then in 2008 as a 21 year old he wins back to back MS1000 events and makes the USO final, beating Nadal in the semi final, and I really thought a slam title was just around the corner... well 4 years later he's done it which is a relief but I do have to admit that I had become extremely pissed off with the whole no coach, defensive tactics, negative body language on court, screaming and all that... but more than that I got seriously annoyed with his mental slumps after defeats - especially the period after he lost to Federer in the AO final... at that time I really thought he was clearly second best player on tour and that if he had used that second slam final as a springboard he could have pushed on so although it's great he won, my overall emotion is relief rather than elation |
|
By:
You've no idea what his first thought was, but you're prepared to declare it.
|
|
By:
the "shear elation"(sic) you refer to has never been expressed in this way recently. Go to your sky +, look at the footage and you will see murray have a quick look in the bag for the watch(which it is his job to wear) adn can't see it so he goes over to ask where it is. To me that says when murray says he will do something in a contract you can be sure he will remember.
There's no point to this, is there. In your world there is one way to react and Murray failed. Despite the fact that this is his job, for which he is paid handsomely, you cannot understand his desire to do his job. I don't get that. Maybe after 5 hours and with two black toes he couldn't be arsed to climb into the stands. Maybe all he felt at that moment was relief and there was no joy. Who knows and quite frankly who cares. However he felt at that moment it was his entitlement to feel that way and I congratulate him on being the best tennis player in the world today. |

Do you not think that sportsman have other responsibilities other than looking like a miserable twot, even after winning ?
But you are right, we are not going to see eye to eye over this, and with that, i bid you good day.. |

People who comment on others without having ever met them or spoke to them are invariably not worth listening to.
|
|
By:
Well in that case we may as well close all the forums down then, you utter dingbat..

By:
You can't really do the whole 'And with that, I bid you good day' routine, and still be here.

guiness2dear
grow up. why not ask what i mean before being rude? not far up this thread, people are trying to comment on what murray is like as a person - they have no idea. comment on his actions etc. but don't pretend you know anything about his personality. if you recorded me whilst playing sport, you'd get a very different image than if you recorded me in the company of friends. |
|
By:
I've never met you Raj1, but think you're a bit of an arse.

|
By:
To be fair he had probably run the equivalent of two marathons back to back, he could barely walk after he got up off his chair after winning, relief was probably the order of the day at that point I don't think the miserable twot is applicable on this occasion.
|
|
By:
I bid good day to the person i was debating with...
Not you. But thanks for your concern.. |
|
By:
if you recorded me competing in my sport you would conclude I am a violent psychotic thug with a taste for hurting people - I am also large and heavy (128kg currently)
but in fact I am a professional therapist and I treat people with severe problems in an extremely caring manner very hard to judge what goes on inside peoples minds with any accuracy from video |

I didn't like him but it had nothing to do with his nationality just his personality. However after the olympics and wimbledon i saw something different in the guy, and i am very happy for his victory, and hope it is the first of many.

I was in truth getting uncomfortable with supporting "anyone but Murray". Its an unpleasant way to think.
