I'm doing some more digging.
Compare with Lingfield yesterday: (Dist; runners; draw winner) 7; 9; 9 7: 11; 5 8; 12; 11 7; 13; 3 13; 13; 2 10; 13; 1 10; 12; 2 7; 13; 2 |
|
By:
all the longer distance winners were drawn low
|
|
By:
All the longer distance winners also raced up with the pace. In fact, all the winners except in races 2 and 4, raced up with the pace.
That may be contrary to what many would expect at Lingfield. |
|
By:
That's not the norm I would have thought.
|
|
By:
We'll see - I'm doing some pace analysis.
I haven't got the distances/draws/runners to hand but early positions for Lingfield AW winners 18/10: 1)Led 2)Prom 3)Led 4)Prom 5)Prom 6)Held up 7)Prom 8)Led |
|

Keep me informed
![]() I should have let you carry on with the comp, no winners yet ![]() |

Another one I've got handy - Ling AW 18/1/17:

Kempton yesterday:

I think I said, I'm doing some pace analysis. Hopefully this will confirm which tracks favour front runners / hold up horses and to what extent.
Also, how individual tracks vary from meeting to meeting. There is a school of thought which says that on the AW, a track might favour front runners one day and hold up horses on another. This situation doesn't seem to correlate to weather conditions. Maybe track maintenance? Anyway, I will have a pace rating score for each meeting. I might be wasting my time but it might identify horses which peformed better than the bare form shows or those that under performed. |
|
By:
Agree with track maintenance I'm sure Newcastle being a straight mile alters from one meeting to another, its not till later in the meeting you probably realise if a high or ocassionally a low draw is best.

Five winners from seven drawn 1 tonight

The two that didn't win from stall one were 16/1 and 100/1.

WD yesterday Pump.
![]() Had a small bet on Lihou in the Brocklesby. Ran reasonbly well - beaten 2L. Wasn't a confident selection but felt I had to have a go as I'd spent quite a while looking at the race and didn't like any of the fancied horses. (The winner was around 12/1 the night before.) |

Hi Nick, thanks, never saw your race as on after ITV had finished
Spent a while on the 4.50 Naas put this up on horse racing Aussie Valentine - 2.50 Naas 15/2 Second run with new trainer but is taking the Exact same route as last year, went to Dundalk same meeting as last year running in a mile hcp, beaten around 3.5 lengths same as last year, then comes to this Naas race, last year came second in this race, horse that beat it is rated 111, AV is 4lb lower than the run last year & runs off its lowest ever turf mark, obviously this has been a main objective & you hope it will be in the shake up. Elm Grove - 2.50 50/1 Hard not to have something on Elm, first race 2016 after a six month break produced a win, again last year after another six month on the sidelines won on its comeback run, both times in big fields both times on heavy going, win in 2017 was off a 18lb higher mark than the year before & this year is 10lb higher than last year, runs off 81 but was running of 89 in the summer, with the claimer up is only 1lb higher than last win, yes its asking a lot in this very competitive heat but its obviously best after a break & comes here after a couple of runs over the sticks, Iv'e seen a lot worse 50/1 shots for sure. Be lucky if your palying today |
