Horse racing ? Yes, you're mad.
By:
You might get a touch of evens in the morning. Good luck if you do place the bet, horse looks a monster.
By:
looks very comfortable every race he has won. normally only bet on rugby or nfl/college football
By:
what happens if it falls?
By:
you still off the gambling dan ?
By:
I think there are many better evens bets than this.
He has a terrific engine, but in a crowded field and fast pace, his jumping will be put to the test for the first time in reality. |
By:
don't say that canaryboy :(
By:
Evens here now, btw - and getting bigger.
By:
Yes Smiggy, still off it in a serious way. Will be having a few bets this week though for an interest.
By:
cheers john
i have a wedding in australia at the start of september , so this hopefully will go towards paying for it, |
By:
and if it loses you can swim
By:
my ticket is paid for by money the groom owes me since we were there 5 years ago. about time i got it back :p
By:
Would be a better result for you if he gets beat? Surely?
By:
over the last 30 odd years I have heard it over & over " banker of the meeting " many have got beat, not saying that will be the case tomoirrow but you have to ask yourself is it really value ?
By:
PIP ?
By:
it has all the credentials, but I wouldn't have the bottle in a field of that size
By:
i withdrew the money from my credit union this morning so just waiting for best price. still not positive though. alot of money to lose. i earned far more money per week this time last year.
By:
Where does a 19yo get 8K to back a horse?
By:
If you are not comfortable with the bet then why do it? Don't do it unless you are fully satisfied you'll be ok with a loss if it arises.
I know people from the Fenton yard....and I know the horse needs to prove it tomorrow...but they really do think it's a freak. |
By:
Shall I take a chance & put it in the placpot comp :D
By:
he won about 70k so far this year gambling. he bets big. wins and loses big. it is no big deal to him. but 1500 is to me
By:
Remember having my biggest bet on Croatia to beat Austria, Euro 2008. 1-0 up after4 minutes, laughing. Full time, 1-0, but no mirth at all in the second half. Good luck!
By:
i think my highest ever bet was 5k. my highest ever bet on a horse was £100 on umm thingy that won the grand national the other year. the die/comply one. i dunno comply or die, die an comply. whatever it was. so yes youre mad lol.
By:
panglima is spot on re value. It may well win, but Get Me Out Of Here although not been as visually impressive as Dunguib is a worthy rival. If I was forced to have a hefty chunk this week on a supposed good thing, I'd rather back Big Bucks.
By:
2smiggy don't do it m8,never ran over hurdles @ Cheltenham where they go a mad pace, helter skelter from the flag fall.
The horse is good no doubt about it but has never been over hurdles in a big field at a fast pace,to many negatives to be having a "huge bet". If your going for it everything has to be in your favour and imo everything is not in the horse's favour,gl in whatever you decide. |
By:
paddypower are paying all losing bets on the race if dunguib wins.
By:
^ why do you reckon they offer that ?
because they don't think it will win that's why. |
By:
I agree with Hearts.no1, it may well win but is very short for a horse with a lot still to prove.
By:
ppower that is. cheers hearts. still to decide really. getting a bit nervous now
By:
think the ground will ride quicker than expected tomorrow which might be another concern. i think he'll win but he's not unbeatable.
By:
dont see the point in risking good money on a horse race at such a low price. too much risk with no real upside.
i posted on here a few weeks ago people seem to love ignoring value just for a cheap thrill bet. i pointed out that a rochdale, newcastle, cowdenbeath outright treble paid about 20/1 and has a great chance of winning, but i know nobody is interested because it doesnt provide an instant "gambling**. 1k on that and youd be in a great position, now pays around 6/1 but more to the point you can cover the bet if you need to and know you will come out with a huge profit in the end. |
By:
not looking for a cheap thrill. just my cousin has been on about this horse for ages. like i said he will put 8k on it and he is up about 50k this year. lost about 20k but won about 70k in the last year alone. but money is not a worry to him. living at home, no bills, and put 6k on arsenal to beat porto last week. i am the opposite, but seeing him win so much i would be slightly jealous. 1500 would be nice
By:
what price do you make it?
By:
More to the point, are you gonna' have to be kept away from the sharp knives if it gets beat and you've lost that sort of money?
By:
certainty, double your stake
By:
As a general rule you make more money (or perhaps lose less) opposing favourites at cheltenham (especially irish ones) than backing them
By:
no sharp knives lol. I've a good bank balance. but for my trip to australia i would prefer not to take any out really. just looking for spending money
By:
I still want to know how a 19yo got this sort of money in the first place.
By:
it's easy really. what price do you make it?
if evs is bigger than that, back it if evs is smaller than that, leave it (or lay it) |
