Well enjoy being cynical whilst you can because without major rebranding and investment greyhound racing won't be around much longer.

rebranding its dogs chasing a teddy bear, not the x factor

Yes, sad but true it is well below reality tv betting and virtual racing in the pecking order these days.

sign of the times im affraid.

From what I see the majority of in-shop punters don't care if they're betting on a dog race/virtual/fobt... seems that most of these punters just need the quick**of a gamble on anything... there seems to be a race of some sorts every 2 or 3 minutes these days... irregardless of whether there's any UK racing on

Paulie is right for a lot of punters. I took a £25 reverse forecast at Steepledowns about 6 years ago, looked at the bloke in bewilderment and handed in my notice a couple of days later.

The bookies also went back on their word, I remember when virtual racing first started and they tried to promote it, they promised you would never see a 15 runner handicap so that you lost out on 4th place E/W. that didn't last too long. Also with the snow bet, it wouldn't of gone in the sleepers at all, one non snow location it would have a red line through it and the guy told unlucky!!

So did it snow in steepledowns?
What was the price? |

The bet in question once again shows the lack of training new staff must get .
In fact on their first day they are probably told , 'this is a FOBT , this is how you open it , this is how you remove the money and close it again and here's how you switch it back on . If the machines break down you must call this number at once .Training over' . My mate backed O'Sullivan to win a snooker tournament a couple of years ago at 10-3 and the price was written on the slip . He won and when my mate when to collect his winnings was told , 'sorry , nothing back on this slip he didn't win 10-3 , he won 13-6 ! |

Qualifications needed to be a betting shop casher. or 'customer service assistant' as they are called these days :
big baps nice smile expect to be sh@gged by manager if half fit and under 40 willing to work until 9-30 p.m on cold winter nights waiting to be robbed DIMITRIOS is correct btw, the onus is on the punter to put his bet on in time, in legible handwriting, and in accordance with the rules. |
|
By:
AGREED THEY SHOULD NOT PAY OUT
HOWEVER IF IT LOST AND THE BLOKE REALISED COULD HE HAVE HAD HIS STAKE BACK? ;-) |
|
By:
bookies in 'tight' shocker
|
|
By:
im pretty sure their rules state any multiple bet including selections where multiples arent allowed will be treated as singles. so he would have been paid on singles, not got his money back.
