DIMITRIOS MASTER OF RELATED BET
By:
Dimitrios
When: 08 Jan 10 14:48
SPECIALS ARE SINGLES ONLY IN GENERAL HOWEVER THE BET IS ALSO RELATED CONTINGENCY.

IF IT'S SNOWING IN ONE PART OF THE UK IT INCREASES THE CHANCES OF OTHER PARTS EVEN IF ONLY BY 1% IN SOME CASES.

IF YOU BACK SNOW IN SAY LIVERPOOL AND THEN MANCHESTER THEN OBVIOUSLY IT IS RELATED BECAUSE IF IT SNOWS IN ONE OR THE OTHER WITH THEM BEING SO CLOSE TOGETHER THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY GOING TO HAVE A FAIR CHANCE OF HAVING SIMILAR WEATHER.

HONESTLY LAD'B SHOULD TELL THIS MUG TO KISS IT.

Im saying if the bet was taken in error he should be given more than 32 quid, if it lost would the bookie have made a point of returning his stake NO, it would have gone in as a sleeper and put towards the christmas pi** up. Only one rat in this game

KINGFISHER - IT IS THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THE RULES.

IF HE PLACES IT ON A ILLEGAL BET AND IT LOSES, IN WHICH CASE IT SHOULD BE VOID EITHER WAY GOING BY THE RULES AS YOU SAY.

HOWEVER BECAUSE HE WAS SUCH A IDIOT TO DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE HE DESERVES TO LOSE HIS MONEY JUST FOR THAT ALONE.

YOU KNOW THE SAYING

"A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON PARTED"

I once had a correct score treble used to do 2-0, 3-0 and 2-1 every week came in paid 2.5k and they wouldnt take it the week after, pure disgrace.

You're talking blollox, kingfisher.
1st - Sleepers are there to be collected. How the feck can a bookie pay up if someone doesn't come into the shop.
2nd - The ONLY ** here was the punter.

So, if a punter gets an unattentive or uncaring cashier to put 200/1 about a 2/1 shot, the bookie should pay out?
OR
If a trainee takes a bet of: No Goalscorer, 0-0 and Draw (all in the same game) in a treble, that **ing **wit placing the bet, who is trying to effectively steal from the bookie (like the Snow bloke is), should be paid out in full, yes?

If your bet isn't being taken, no-one is **ing you. I have NEVER seen a bookie ** money from a punter, but it happens the other way round all the time.

"I have NEVER seen a bookie ** money from a punter, but it happens the other way round all the time."

Happens on ante post markets all the time Study.

Agree the punter was trying it on in this instance though.

i think we're all agreed that this bloke was a chancer but i'd never defend the majors. they are bandits.
By:

No question they're bandits.
All FOBT's should be banned, and they should be regulated by someone who understands the game.

Every bet should be checked by someone who knows the game, why dont multi million pound organisations try paying people more than minimum wage and they might get staff with knowedge, if not pay out the scamsters, im sure they can cope with the loss. If you take the bet pay out, to avoid it pay someone a salary not a wage.

CRB check before employing staff, once a thief always a thief

If they paid a decent wage, I might still be working in the business.

Not many companies pay decent wages any more.

I don't know why everything isn't just done on line these days.

I reckon betting shops will be gone in 20 years except on racecourses.

As things stand the percentage of shop turnover FOBT's contribute to most shops is amazingly high. Sad sign of the times imo.

agree with lozzy, they will be obsolete on years to come
By:

They don't want staff who know what they're doing. It could be a security risk.
They always display rules, and ANYONE who knows about betting knows related bets cannot be combined.

Being an uniformed or **ing punter should NOT mean you can put any old bet on and get paid for it. The fact that the staff don't earn much has nothing to do with it.

50 quid max. bet on bags meetings and you call this bloke a chancer ffs, 600 + million turnover and they ban you if you win. Britains bookies are a pure disgrace.

Yeah why don't they let us all have £1k bets on**races at Crayford**etc. It's almost like they're trying to run a business and make a profit.... digusting, dirty, low-down behaviour.

At Billys, if you are at a certain level of seniority in a shop, and they send you to work in a different shop as a lower level cashier, you just get paid lower levels cashier's wagers.

Scandalous.

kingfisher - I made a point half an hour ago about how the recruitment policy changed with the big bookies when computerised tills and extended opening hours came in. Short sighted and undervalueing the importance of customer service, but true nonetheless.
By:
Paulie Walnuts
When: 08 Jan 10 15:21
I don't know why kingfisher, but it's common knowledge that there's a lot of moody races at some tracks.. with dubious SP returns by some on-course bookmakers.

I reckon the ONLY attractions of bookies these days are:

You actually get cash in your hand if you win
Somewhere warm for the homeless/jobless/public sector employees
FOBT's for the addicts.

The dogs are dying on their arses unfortunately. My friend said that they only count for between 7 and 8% of annual turnover now in his shop. :(
