Thats because it is and always has been a tough world out there.
|
|
By:
no, ive had 2 previous jobs which i left for the one om at now
i see my post sounds like im being a really c unt, thats not what i meant, i guess i havent read the thread but i presumed it would be another thread saying how 16-24 year olds are just people who have no intention of getting jobs, and i was meaning to say at 20 im in a full time job that i put effort into get and have worked hard at since, so not all people that age are like that my post wasnt meant to be a dig at the younger generation not getting jobs, im meaning to stick up for them |

C the collapsing economy means few employers are taking on new staff. People entering the market for the first time are bound to be hit worst. /thread |

what do people think of employment agencies? problem is there are 100s of people on there list as it is
|

Well remembered, as it was the worst game of football I can remember since watching Luton 0-0 Arsenal on a frozen plastic pitch in the old 1st Divsion.
The reason I ask is that I lost a fair amount on last season's shocker and chatted to you afterwards on a thread where you said you lost a similar amount. How does a 19/20yo administrator find themselves gambling about a 1/3 of their salary on a Monday night game of football? |

Kane - I dont envy you in your quest to find a decent job.. I grew up in the 60's ,spoilt for choice,if you didnt like one job. just jack it in and start another.

Hi everyone, I'm 21, a recent 2:1 graduate in Politics from a top 30 uni. I was unemployed for 6 months, luckily have a job now (work for the DWP). The reason it's so difficult is because employers always want experience for the most menial of jobs. I've only had 1 proper job before now (accounts assistant for a hospital) so unless I want to do that for the rest of my life it's very difficult. I had 4 interviews in 6 months excluding the job I got, and on only one of those interviews did do poorly in. For example performed really well at an interview to work in a pathology department (non-clinical role), didn't get it because someone had 2 years experience. Yet it was such an easy job (and a cr@p salary of £13.8k to go with it) they might as well have tossed a coin.

i know we just emplyed someone part time from an emplyment agency, but i know my boss isnt a big fan of them, but myself i would know very little about them
all i do know is, they are very pushy which for people wanting jobs is a good thing i guess, they ring us every other week |
|
By:
i once applied for a bakery shop, realy small it was and they wanted experience, it takes the pi$$ because i can do the job as well as any with experience, think im going to sign up to a few agencies
|
|
By:
yeah i remember talking to you vaguely about that, yes shocking game of football
but i can promise you shaun, ive never lied about an amount iv staked on betfair, and i have never ever bet any amount of money like that, i earn about 14K a year in my position, but betting is just a hobby for me, i stick just to £2, fivers tenners, and occasionally a bit higher i think i remember you saying you had bet big, but i hadnt, and i wouldnt lie to you either, so must have been somebody else who was betting big |

And over 500,000 students started universities last September.... Most will leave university with rubbish degrees, big debts and end up on the dole or in a call centre on £5.45 a hour. Nail on head, perhaps the greatest New Labour con of them all. Just not enough jobs in the economy that are suited to what's concentrated on in the new degrees. And millions of 21-25 year olds in £20k of debt at the start of their working lives. |
|
By:
ive got a National Diploma in Sports Performance & Excellence, which is useless without going to uni, which aint for me because il go there, get in debt, come back and still be applying for places like pc world
|
|
By:
i worked for the DWP mate, that was my previous job
in my short career ive only had 4 interviews and got 3 jobs, been lucky |
|
By:
Sorry if my post seemed accusational Gary, certainly not my intention. Just curious, thought maybe you'd gone through a phase of reckless punting having got a lucky acca up or something
My memory has probably betrayed me Good luck |

By:
oh no worries mate, i see where you are coming from, and on my salary if i was betting huge sums, it would be shocking, but betting has only ever been a bit of fun for me, and i have a good discipline, and am never tempted to go further with it
i think we were all appreciative of the conversations after the game to keep us awake :D cheers and good luck to you aswell :) |
