ahh thats the new system lol
the microcredits were like 14 per card, but they changed it so you get like 30-60 agin per card
next week is the last week

the person in charge (sql mark) posted this on the sql facebook group..
"As a final point, perhaps of interest - our aims with the show are two fold. First is that as many people as possible have as good a time as possible. We are far more interested in people enjoying playing the games than we are in people becoming incredibly skilled at them (and thus we are not unduly concerned with rewarding that skill). Secondly we want to provide an experience that's as much like a gameshow as possible. Any changes you see in the future will be with those aims in mind."

so looks like they are going to end up just making it into a lottery

and for the record...

me withdrawing or staying in makes no extra work for anyone, so the "put something back" argument doesnt work

Just to put in my 2p's worth, it doesn't come easy writing good quiz questions as anybody who has run a quiz on here would testify

GT was the quiz question king with his majors and I agree that something needed to give in the workload of a few.

However, not everyone can do questions but they could sure ref a match or two a week, maybe that should be an option for those struggling to do questions and the slack made up by people like me, Study, GT or anyone else who likes writing questions.

I am prepared to do Andy Murray's 48 to keep him in if I'm allowed until next Friday to do so

Maybe we could team up with a buddy from the league we are not doing questions for or your own league and take it from there

I know Study will second this idea

16 Subjects Drag.

What's brought it home is how hard it is/was for the quiz master generals.

I think thats quite poor guys to be honest. It isnt easy making questions but to give up because its become a bit tough is a poor excuse and not to get the return. I mean others made questions on the most oscure questions for you guys all season last season, imagine how tought they found it!... but they did it.

I think you guys should give it another go tbf. Even if for no other reason than to give something back to the leagues for everybody elese commitment to putting Q`s together for your own league games last season.

Just dont give in guys, if the questions are not great that cant be helped (tell the division question master you struggled with a, b, c subjects)

come on one last big effort :)

Everything about Chit-Chat quizzes is epitimosed above. ^^^

If I can, you can.

Pull yer feckin finger out and improve your general knowledege on the way...

Agree with GvG. I've struggled with some of the qs where my knowledge is nil but in doing the research I'm learning about stuff I knew virtually nothing about beforehand. That surely is a good thing.
Whilst no-one is obliged to carry on in the leagues, this has certainly made me appreciate even more the effort put in by all the refs last year.
(My qs may be a day or two late by the way mmm - nearly done, just got to finish typing them up).

Redbag - yes, first half of the first batch received. Thanks.

Transmission Vamp - ok, thanks for letting me know. No problem if a few of them are a day or two late but it would be a big help if you could let me have what you've already completed by tomorrow. Cheers.

Myself and Joe Jordan created about 500 questions for the Champions League competition over the course of a month. Yes it was a lot of work, but imagine how 5000 would be between just a few people like it was last year.

The leagues are unsustainable in the long run unless everybody does 100 or so per season, and it is excellent that a lot of quizzers are willing to give it a go and a shame that others aren't.

On average I would say that producing 100 decent questions is about 5 hours work. The season will be about 6 months long, so 5 hours work for 6 months of competition isn't such poor value for time imo.

The idea of some people doing questions for others is honourable, but not an option. If people want to play they need to contribute. The admin team are unanimous on that point and if it means we have two leagues rather than three next season then that's how it has gotta be.

for starters, no1 has asked anyone to write their questions for them
secondly, writing questions for some people isnt as easy as it is for others, some people could probably knock up a question every couple of minutes, but for the likes of me it'd probably take more 10 minutes to even think of a worthy questions, let alone wording it correctly, and if necessary finding acceptable multi choice answers

finally.. no1 has been moaning about withdrawing, so there really is no reason criticise people for withdrawing.. without that extra person, less questions are needed, so it doesn't increase the workload at all..
All the work people put in last year is appreciated, but to try and guilt people into writing their questions because of that is wrong, they were volunteers last year.. ie not forced into it

i am finding art questions impossible. I'm afraid i am just resorting to wikipediang a painter and i will name some of his paintings and you have to guess the painter. Hope these are not too hard or too easy - But I just don't know.

There are prob only a dozen or so paintings that I know and I know who painted it - Mona Lisa, Guernica, Haywain, errrr, maybe 12 was a little optimistic.

That's fine, pos. 'Who painted X' is OK as a Q. Other areas of Art can be also used for Qs: Sculpture, Photography, etc. One Q each on three different fields would be ideal.

Am away from home with limited access tso only just got on to read tons above .
I think Andy Murray was the only one to leave in the lots I've read above, so thank you Andy for your playing commitment last season .
The parameters of commitment from Players HAD to change this Season ,
as they HAD to change a 1/3rd of the way into last season , I just could not cope with doing the questions for 3x Leagues ..(It was bad enough when Dan was doing the Prem)..you can see why we struggled as you attempt to do just 48q's ...Even though good volunteers came forward last season they found that the Task was far, far more than they envisaged when volunteering, but several carried on to the End of the season , whilst others fell by the wayside immediately and others after a short time ..
...So it HAD to change for this Season .....
I can read that most Players have now appreciated that ...
I also agree that by clearly laying down the Equal contribution parameters for all (the Admin Team will be doing more than other Players, but nothing crazy)..that Players can then make their OWN decisions whether to stay in or choose to leave ...
That is the position ..
No brickbats should be thrown in EITHER direction by those opting to stay or those opting to go....
What it does mean is that those staying are now an appreciative part of the League doing their new share o help it continue ...and once this little exercise is done , we can all get back to the fun of playing .
---------------------------
Referees are also needed , again nothing crazy , maybe a one night a week commitment ..it doesn't even have to be the same night each week , just a firm commitment to try to referee on ONE night a week (more reffing can be done --- but only IF YOU wish as time allows or becomes free for you )... :D
