no - they are our problem - so just hang them - its by far the quickest and most humane method of despatch
i'm sure we could set a reasonable quota - say 3000 per year and then make some progress on numbers after that |

I've never understood why the death penalty is touted as the ultimate deterrent. If I had a choice between rotting in prison for the rest of my days, with each day being absolute hell, I would choose the death penalty every single time.
The problem is that prisons aren't the places of punishment they should be - games consoles, music rooms and televisions ffs. |

Was only wondering how old you were to see whether you've got enough time in to actually have done something in your life so far. You have lots of opinions and wondered if you had anything to base them on apart from what someone else tells you or do you have life experiences to draw from ?

Age is irrelevant as it can take an age to become an expert fisherman.

i won a maths competition once if that counts
By:
i think it's something you're born with tbh pang
By:
i'm 60 years old if you want to know and i think the death penalty is barbaric and all civilised countries have abolished it many years ago
By:
yeah and i have like so many opinions
i think china are ***** and am against the death penalty really far fetched and extreme thinking oh yes and i don't believe in this god bloke who nobody has proven to exist |
By:
In my opinion an affinity with Norwich City is the only evidence required to validate the accusation of far fetchedness.
By:
I do believe you were also b!tching about the military but no matter. FWIW I think the Chinese are cvnts too and there is no such thing as god...as the t shirt says 'Thank god for Atheists'. We differ on the death penalty though but hey ho....I won a few running races once or twice in my younger days just in case you think I'm an unqualified upstart for asking.
By:
what about the military?
i simply asked someone who wanted money saved, about the 31 billion expenditure |
By:
You can't have too many guns and bombs canaryboy...never know when ur gonna need 'em.
By:
I'm for the death penaly myself if the crime warrants it but you have to change the stipulations. Instead of 'guilty beyond all reasonable doubt' you replace it with 'guilty beyond all shadow of doubt', i.e. if there can be no doubt of your guilt and the crime warrants it then you are put to death. If there is the merest smigeon of doubt then a custodial sentance is imposed instead.

AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM THAT ARE NOT GUILTY,THERES BEEN LOADS WHOS BEEN IN PRISON FOR MURDER,ONLY TO BE RELEASED LATER ON ,WHEN THEY FOUND THEY WERE INNOCENT,LOADS
By:
I'd gladly pay my taxes to see Vanessa George and the like locked up in solitary for the rest of their life. The death penalty is not a deterrent as Hungerford, Dunblane and the Illinois shhotings prove, plus all the suicide attempts and hunger strikes made by prisoners like Fred West and I an Huntley.
What they are really scared of is prison and lots and lots of it, being surrounded by people who hate them. |
By:
That's probs a better way of dealing with this issue....no segrgation for the beasts...let the general population deal with them.

Should th UK have the death penalty ?
Perhaps the whole of the country should go to the polls on it, in a ballot with your name on the slip, with the proviso that if you vote 'no' you vote for the guilty party to be imprisoned until death. The 'Yes' group, of which I am one, will no doubt be outnumbered by the 'No' group. When the 'No' gets returned as the verdict, those against the death penalty (which will never return) should have it noted on their tax return, and between them, THEY can fund the £16k (and rising) cost per year of keeping a person in prison. 10 yobs of 18 who stab 10 people to death in London, with an average life expectancy of 75 years, will cost the taxpayers £9,120,000 before inflation. Just for 10 of the feckers. While the 'No' group contribute nothing towards them. It can all be done with computers. A sound plan imo. |

Or an irrational one - take your pick.

Just make prisons cheaper. For the worst offenders.
This must be possible. No fancy food, no possessions, locked in a small secure room, with limited access to anywhere else, until release. Why should that cost millions? |
